The Mandalorian and his adopted son Grogu are leaping from the small screen to the big screen in their first movie adventure!
We all heard the rumors. We didn’t think it would happen. Guess what? It just did! After blowing us all away with their exploits on Disney+, it is time for Din Djarin and his adopted son to make their way to the big screen. It has been announced that production for their first big-screen movie, titled The Mandalorian & Grogu, is happening this year. No date for the film to hit screens has been announced. However, it marks an exciting time for Star Wars fans and devotees of the TV series. The news has emerged via StarWars.Com.

The Mandalorian and Grogu are embarking on a new adventure — to movie theaters.
Directed by Jon Favreau, and produced by Favreau, Kathleen Kennedy, and Dave Filoni, The Mandalorian & Grogu will go into production in 2024.
“I have loved telling stories set in the rich world that George Lucas created,” said Favreau. “The prospect of bringing the Mandalorian and his apprentice Grogu to the big screen is extremely exciting.”
“Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni have ushered into Star Wars two new and beloved characters, and this new story is a perfect fit for the big screen,” added Kathleen Kennedy, president of Lucasfilm.
The Mandalorian & Grogu will lead Lucasfilm’s ongoing feature-development slate, including films helmed by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, James Mangold, and Dave Filoni, who is also currently developing Ahsoka Season 2, among those in the works.

Yes, you read the bottom of the announcement right! Not only are fans getting a Mandalorian & Grogu movie, but we are also getting a second season of Ahsoka to boot. After a superb first season featuring Rosario Dawson as the character, a second season is just what we wanted. With how things ended with Ahsoka and Sabine (Natasha Liu Bordizzo). And for the reunion between Ezra Bridger (Eman Esfandi) and Hera Syndulla (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), we need a second season.
Throw into the mix the probable return of Ivanna Sakhno as Shin Hati, and Lars Mikkelsen as Grand Admiral Thrawn. Plus the possible return of Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker / Darth Vader and we’ve got an explosive few years on our hands. With The Mandalorian movie and the second season of Ahsoka all coming together into a blockbuster movie finale in a few years from Dave Filoni. With the other Star Wars movies on the Lucasfilm slate, we can look forward to some great times ahead.
