Are you brave enough to join The Watchers? That is the question we must ask ourselves this June. The film is the directorial debut feature by Ishana Night Shyamalan, who also writes the screenplay. Her father, M. Night Shyamalan is on hand to help his daughter by being one of the film’s producers along with Ashwin Rajan and Nimitt Mankad. Dakota Fanning and Georgina Campbell lead the cast of the upcoming supernatural horror film, joined by Oliver Finnegan and Olwen Fouéré. The movie promises to offer spine-tingling thrills and suspense upon its release this summer. The film comes our way thanks to Warner Bros. Pictures. The film’s trailer has been released. PREMISE
At 28, artist Mina finds herself stranded in a forest in western Ireland. She seeks shelter but ends up trapped with three strangers, all of whom are haunted by enigmatic creatures that stalk them nightly.
THE NOVEL AND IRELAND
The film is based on the novel of the same name by A.M. Shine. The premise of the film sounds like we could be in for a wild ride. It appears to be a nice horror film to break up the summer blockbusters that are heading our way, giving us a break from the usual fare we usually all go and see. The film has a gothic or Irish folk tale feel, likely due to its setting and filming location in Ireland. And that could mean great things are in store.
