Star Wars: Skeleton Crew is Emerging From Lightspeed This Christmas!

According to Collider, Lucasfilm’s upcoming Star Wars series, Skeleton Crew, will be released on Disney Plus just in time for Christmas.

It’s Star Wars Day today, and there are many big announcements emerging from the Force. We’ve already seen a slew of new releases from the Disney Store and a massive content drop in Fortnite. We’ve reviewed Tro Moo’s Blue Milk and even explored the meeting of Star Wars and E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial. But now, emerging news suggests Star Wars will have a significant presence during the festive period.

Dave Filoni’s fantastic TALES OF THE EMPIRE has just been released, and according to Collider, the new series Skeleton Crew will be released later this year, just in time for Christmas. It seemed like there wouldn’t be much to look forward to for Star Wars fans this Christmas, with The Bad Batch ending and all other series either in production or still on the way. However, The Acolyte will be arriving to save our summer! Thanks to Skeleton Crew, there’s even more reason to celebrate the holiday season.

As Star Wars next Disney+ series, The Acolyte, inches closer to release, another upcoming show set in a Galaxy Far, Far Away just got an exciting new update. Director Jon Watts revealed during an interview at CCXP that Skeleton Crew will be released on Disney+ around Christmas. It’s been a packed year for Star Wars series, with The Bad Batch recently airing its series finale, and The Acolyte set to premiere its first two episodes on June 4. The franchise may have taken a break from the big screen following The Rise of Skywalker, but it’s showing no sign of slowing down in the television department.

RELEASE

“Star Wars: Skeleton Crew” occurs after the “Return of the Jedi” and stars Hollywood actor Jude Law. The series is described as a galactic version of classic Amblin coming-of-age adventure films from the 1980s. We were lucky enough to see the series trailer at Star Wars Celebration last year, and although we can’t reveal any details, we can assure you that the series looks fantastic. This series is perfect for family-friendly holiday entertainment, featuring a mix of fresh and familiar faces from the MandoVerse.

It’s important to note that until we receive official confirmation from Lucasfilm, fans should take any news with a grain of salt. The Dejarik Game Board is constantly in motion, and things can change quickly. With any luck, we can all look forward to enjoying a new Star Wars adventure around the Christmas tree.

Once Skeleton Crew is underway, Future of the Force will provide weekly episode reviews and character poster coverage. Stay tuned for much more!
