Are you ready for the final adventure of the U.S.S. Cerritos? Although it was recently confirmed that the fifth season of STAR TREK: LOWER DECKS will be its last, Trek fans cannot wait to return to the final frontier. After a fantastic fourth season, we can’t wait to see how Boimler and Mariner’s last adventures will play out. And guess what? The streamer just gave us a sneak peek at the upcoming season! Paramount+ has shared the first poster for the new season that confirms that the new season will be hitting the streamer on October 24th.
The glorious poster pays homage to the iconic theatrical poster from Star Trek V: The Final Frontier, but only in design. Unlike previous seasons, which echoed the sequential classic movies, Lower Decks season 5 alters the formula with a fresh color scheme. Feast your eyes on the glorious one-sheet below.
SYNOPSIS
In season five of STAR TREK: LOWER DECKS, the crew of the U.S.S. Cerritos is tasked with closing “space potholes” – subspace rifts which are causing chaos in the Alpha Quadrant. Pothole duty would be easy for Jr. Officers Mariner, Boimler, Tendi and Rutherford…if they didn’t also have to deal with an Orion war, furious Klingons, diplomatic catastrophes, murder mysteries and scariest of all: their own career aspirations.
This upcoming season on Paramount+ is a celebration of this underdog crew who are dangerously close to being promoted out of the lower decks and into strange new Starfleet roles.
Created by Rick & Morty writer Mike McMahan, Star Trek: Lower Decks features the voices of Tawny Newsome, Jack Quaid, Noël Wells, and Eugene Cordero as the support crew serving on one of Starfleet’s least important ships, the U.S.S. Cerritos.

As mentioned, Paramount+ has confirmed that the final season of Star Trek: Lower Decks will launch on October 24th. We are only a month and a half away from departing from Spacedock for the final voyage of the Cerritos. But where will our intrepid Lower Decks crew end up when the series warps off to be decommissioned? Will Boimler ever get the rank he wants? Will Mariner finally stop resisting following in her mom’s footsteps and take on the responsibility of Starfleet? We’ll have to wait and see, but fans can relax knowing we’ve got one more season to enjoy before we say goodbye to another excellent Star Trek series.
