THE TOP TEN TITLES

This week sees two new entries and two re-entries into the placings. To make way for these four titles, it is a fond farewell to Practical Magic, Dune Part Two, Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire and Coraline. But what are these new and returning titles and where have they entered the chart? Let’s take a tour at what’s making the grade on home entertainment.

DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE CONTINUE TO REIGN SUPREME!

Once again, despite some valiant efforts, nothing can defeat Deadpool & Wolverine at the top of the chart, claiming a fifth week at Number One. (Read our review here.)

DARE YOU TRY THE SUBSTANCE?

Our second and final new entry for the week comes in the shape of The Substance. One of the year’s best films, in my opinion, you’ll require a strong stomach to survive the two hours and twenty-one minutes of body horror. (Read our review here.)

THE GHOST WITH THE MOST IS ON HIS WAY DOWN!

Long-awaited comedy horror sequel Beetlejuice Beetlejuice finds itself falling three places to Number Six. (Read Our review here.)

WILL YOU TAKE A JOURNEY INTO MEGALOPOLIS?

And that is this week’s best-selling titles across the home entertainment market. Hitting PVOD this week is director Francis Ford Coppola’s passion project, Megalopolis. The film stars Adam Driver, Giancarlo Esposito, Nathalie Emmanuel, Aubrey Plaza, Shia LaBeouf, Jon Voight, Laurence Fishburne, Talia Shire, Jason Schwartzman, Kathryn Hunter, Grace VanderWaal, Chloe Fineman, James Remar, D. B. Sweeney, and Dustin Hoffman. Set in an alternate, 21st-century New York City (restyled “New Rome”), it follows visionary architect Cesar Catilina (Driver) as he clashes with the corrupt Mayor Franklyn Cicero (Esposito), who opposes Catilina’s plans to revitalize New Rome by building the futuristic utopia “Megalopolis”. The film recieved mixed reviews and was one of the year’s biggest flops at the box office. However, if the film appeals to you, rent it for £15.99 from your preferred site.

The big question remains, can anything dethrone Deadpool & Wolverine at the top of the charts? As we approach Christmas (already?), we should see some of the favourite movies start hitting the placings. Can one of these defeat the Marvel duo? Check back again next week to see how things go, so until then…

Whatever you decide, whatever you buy, stay safe, be kind, look after each other and happy viewing!
