It is the season to be jolly. As we sit down to celebrate Christmas with our families and friends, some hot entertainment has descended from the mountain on Paramount+. From the entertaining and delightful family film, IF (Read our review here), the remake of the classic Zorro, the period drama Queen Woo, the return of a serial killer in Dexter: Original Sin and science fiction frights with A Quiet Place: Day One (Read our review here.) There’s plenty to keep everyone happy and entertained after the big Christmas lunch. So, let’s see what presents lay under the Paramount+ Christmas tree.

THE ROAD TRIP

The box set becomes available on December 26th. It contains 6 episodes of 60 minutes each. The Road Trip is a witty, contemporary, emotionally complex romantic comedy about giving love another shot. Can someone be the right person, just at the wrong time? And is there ever a future in returning to a past love? Addie and her sister are on a road trip to a friend’s wedding in Spain when they are forced to share the ride with Addie’s ex Dylan, his irrepressible best friend Marcus, and complete stranger Rodney. With nowhere to hide but a creaky campervan, the group must confront their buried history as secrets and revelations cause many a bump in the road.
DEXTER: ORIGINAL SIN

Episode 1 drops on December 13th. There are 10 episodes of 60 minutes each. Set in 1991 Miami, Dexter: Original Sin follows Dexter as he transitions from student to avenging killer. When his bloodthirsty urges can’t be ignored any longer, Dexter must learn to channel his inner darkness. With the guidance of his father, Harry, he adopts a code designed to help him find and kill people who deserve to be eliminated from society without getting on law enforcement’s radar. This is a particular challenge for young Dexter as he begins a forensics internship at the Miami Metro Police Department.
ZORRO

The box set drops on December 6th. It contains 8 episodes of 60 minutes each. In 1821, Don Diego de la Vega becomes mayor of Los Angeles to improve his beloved city. However, the city is facing financial trouble due to the greed of a local businessman, Don Emmanuel’s, and Diego’s powers as mayor are not enough to fight injustice. Diego has not used his Zorro identity in 20 years but it seems he has no choice but to bring Zorro back for the greater good. But Diego struggles to balance his dual identity as both Zorro and mayor, causing strain on his marriage with Gabriella, who is unaware of his secret. Can Diego salvage his marriage and his sanity amidst the chaos?
QUEEN WOO

The box set drops on December 23rd. It contains 8 episodes of 60 minutes each. Queen Woo is a period drama series directed by Jung Se-kyo (Oh! My Gran) and written by Lee Byoung-hak (The Royal Tailor.) Upon the death of King Ko Nam Moo, Korea’s Goguryeo region’s ninth king, a fierce battle between all the tribes owned by the late King’s brothers begins. In efforts to inherit the throne, a chase to marry one of the King’s brothers ensues, and the series follows the journey of Queen Woo Hee, the first woman in history to become Queen twice.
MAKING A SERIAL KILLER SERIES 2

Episodes 1-3 drop on December 13th. Episodes will then drop weekly. There are 10 episodes in total that run for 60 minutes each. Making A Serial Killer returns to unpick the crimes of some of America’s most notorious killers, delving into their early lives and unravelling what shaped their evil characters. Poignant survivor testimonials and interviews with victims’ families will lay bare the heartbreaking stories behind each victim, while input from seasoned investigators, unfiltered police footage and accounts from those who’ve confronted these perpetrators will provide unparalleled insight into what led these individuals to commit such evil acts.
This true-crime series uses gripping detective stories, heartbreaking first-person reports and interview footage from interrogation rooms to help understand the actions of serial killers.
SNATCHED

The box set drops on December 5th. It contains 3 episodes of 60 minutes each. From the team that brought you The Child Snatcher, this is a series of three shocking, terrifying and barely believable films about urban legends that just happen to be true, and the purest evil known to man.

The Disappearance Of Johnny Gosch, a 12-year-old newspaper boy from Des Moines, Iowa, on September 5th, 1982, remains one of America’s most perplexing missing child cases. The film becomes available on December 29th. IF is a heartwarming and hilarious tale about a girl who discovers that she can see everyone’s imaginary friends, known as IFs. She embarks on a magical journey to reconnect forgotten IFs with their kids before they disappear. An adventure you’ll need to believe to see, IF is perfect for the whole family.
A QUIET PLACE: DAY ONE

The film becomes available on December 25th. Experience the day the world went quiet in this terrifying continuation of the A Quiet Place universe.
