The BBC has today announced that its hit drama, Ten Pound Poms, will return for its second series on Sunday, 9 March. With all episodes on BBC iPlayer from 6 am. And the series begins its weekly BBC One transmission at 8 pm that evening. Ten Pound Poms is written and created by the BAFTA award-winning Danny Brocklehurst (Fool Me Once, Ordinary Lies, Brassic). It is made by Eleven (Sex Education, Red Rose) for BBC iPlayer and BBC One. In a co-production with Stan, which airs the series in Australia.

PREMISE
Ten Pound Poms follows a group of Brits leaving post-war Britain to embark on a life-changing adventure on the other side of the world. Today’s trailer sees the characters as they head into 1957. Nurse Kate Thorne (Michelle Keegan) is trying to forge a future for herself after series one followed her journey to Australia in search of her son, Michael.
The Roberts family, led by Faye Marsay and Warren Brown, seeks stability and the opportunity to put down roots in Australia. Terry is determined to achieve this goal, while Annie dives into rediscovering herself and exploring exciting opportunities in her new environment. Each of them strives to make Australia the fresh start they have always dreamed of. Will Kate, Terry, and Annie finally grab the piece of the Australian dream they were promised?

THE TRAILER
Today’s trailer also sees Robbie (Nic English) share a tender moment with Kate as they rekindle their friendship. Benny Bates (Marcus Graham), an unscrupulous landlord, bursts onto the scene and offers Terry some words of wisdom. Will he bring sunshine into our returning characters’ lives… or just more drama?
