A Working Man - Jason Statham

Jason Statham is Levon Cade in the David Ayer-directed adaptation of Chuck Dixon’s novel Levon’s Trade in A Working Man. Check out the new trailer.

We here at The Future Of The Force Towers have to admit, we do enjoy a good Jason Statham action movie from time to time. Ok, so they don’t really tax the old brain cells too much. But we get an evil sense of enjoyment watching him beat ten bells out of some deserving bad guy. Take last year’s The Beekeeper, for example. For just over 90 minutes, we watched the actor completely decimate villains in ways that made us wince. But it also delivered a great piece of action entertainment that I, for one, have revisited several times over the past year. One of the actor’s better movies is Homefront. Written by his Expendables co-star, Sylvester Stallone, it showed that Stallone was more than capable of writing a decent actioner for his friend.

Now, the pair are at it again. Based on Chuck Dixon’s novel Levon’s Trade, on March 28th, we will be given their latest collaboration, A Working Man. Stallone again doesn’t appear in the film, deciding to co-write the screenplay with director David Ayer while Statham leads from the front. Re-teaming with his Beekeeper director, Statham plays the character of Levon Cade, a construction worker leading a quiet life. But of course, Cade isn’t some ordinary Joe. He is a former Royal Marines commando who happens to be in the right place at the right time. After the first trailer gave us a flavour of what to expect, the second trailer has arrived to add some spice to the mix.

PREMISE

Levon Cade, an ex-Royal Marines commando, leads a peaceful life as a construction worker. However, Levon is forced to use his old set of skills to find his boss’s teenage daughter Jenny, who had been kidnapped by human traffickers, and soon uncovers a conspiracy of corruption and government agents’ involvement in human trafficking.

Scanlan, Eve Mauro, Maximilian Osinski, Max Croes, Kristina Poli, Andrej Kaminsky and Isla Gie. David Ayer, Chris Long, Jason Statham, Sylvester Stallone, John Friedberg and Bill Block produce the film.
