The wait has been torture, but at long last, the release schedule for Jenna Ortega’s Wednesday Season 2 has arrived. At the grand Netflix Tudum event in California, Jenna Ortega and the rest of The Addams Family cast took the stage to bring the event to a close with a bang. They not only unveiled the release schedule for the series but also confirmed that global megastar Lady Gaga will be joining the cast for season 2. But then, Ortega and co. did the un-THING-kable and revealed the first six minutes of the new season. You heard right, six minutes of unseen new footage for us to feast on!
The wait for season 2 isn’t as long as we thought! We’re excited to share that the show is coming back, with Part 1 of Season 2 dropping on August 6 and Part 2 on September 3. Yep, the summer of woe is making a comeback, and we couldn’t be more pumped for it! But before we ask THING to start clicking the theme tune, watch the new footage below. The sneak peek teases what Wednesday’s been up to over the summer and sets up a season that will upend expectations.
SEASON 2
Armed with her signature razor-sharp wit and deadpan charm, Wednesday is plunged into a new bone-chilling supernatural mystery. Along the way, fans will spot familiar faces — the rest of the Addams Family, including Morticia, Gomez, and Pugsley, all have expanded roles this season — and meet some new and intriguing characters played by a heavy-hitting roster of stars. The latest addition? None other than Lady Gaga, who will be playing the mysterious and enigmatic Rosaline Rotwood, a legendary Nevermore teacher who crosses paths with Wednesday in Season 2. Fresh foes and woes await everyone’s favorite storm cloud in this new chapter set in the Gothic halls of Nevermore Academy.
“Nothing is what it seems in Season 2,” creator Miles Millar told Tudum. “Wednesday goes into this season thinking she knows Nevermore. It’s the first time she’s returned to a school willingly. But as soon as she gets back, nothing happens that she’s expecting. She thinks she’s going to be in control, that she knows where all the bodies are buried, and she doesn’t.”

AN ALL-STAR CAST
Alongside the returning Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams, the cast includes Emma Myers (Enid Sinclair), Joy Sunday (Bianca Barclay), Moosa Mostafa (Eugene), Georgie Farmer (Ajax), Dorobantu (Thing), and Hunter Doohan (Tyler Galpin), who will also return alongside Ortega. Catherine Zeta-Jones (Morticia Addams), Luis Guzmán (Gomez Addams), Isaac Ordonez (Pugsley Addams), and Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo (Deputy Ritchie Santiago) have all become series regulars. Jamie McShane (Sheriff Donovan Galpin) and Fred Armisen (Uncle Fester) will also return in guest-starring roles.
New series regular include Steve Buscemi (The Big Lebowski, Boardwalk Empire), Billie Piper (Scoop, I Hate Suzie), Evie Templeton (Return to Silent Hill, Lord of Misrule), Owen Painter (Tiny Beautiful Things, The Handmaid’s Tale), Noah B. Taylor (Law & Order: Organized Crime, Park Avenue). You can also expect some new guest stars apart from Lady Gaga – Christopher Lloyd (The Addams Family, Back To The Future), Joanna Lumley (Fool Me Once, Absolutely Fabulous), Thandiwe Newton (Westworld, Crash), Frances O’Connor (The Missing, The Twelve), Haley Joel Osment (The Kominsky Method, Somebody I Used to Know), Heather Matarazzo (The Princess Diaries, Scream) and Joonas Suatamo (Star Wars The Force Awakens, Star Wars The Last Jedi, Star Wars The Rise of Skywalker).

RELEASE
What a phenomenal opening salvo in what appears to be a summer of grim delights from Jenna Ortega. The first season of Tim Burton’s landmark series was a joy to behold, bringing The Addams Family back to the forefront in glorious fashion. So, we have high hopes for Wednesday’s newest season. If Burton and his impressive cast can recapture the same lightning in a bottle that made Season one so successful, our summer of woe could be an incredible one. And with THING ready to click his fingers to the iconic theme tune, we are more than ready for another helping of woe at Nevermore Academy.
Mark the dates in your diary because the new semester at Nevermore begins with Wednesday Season 2, Part 1, on August 6, followed by Part 2 on September 3.
