STREAM (OR SCREAM) NOW!
From a Stephen King banger to some Dangerous Animals, there is a ton of chilling gems to tuck into. Candyman fans will be eating well with the 2021 sequel, and Chucky fans can enjoy both versions of Child’s Play. And rounding out the chilling selection is the skin-crawling exploration of the Lost Tapes of Ed Gein. But don’t take my word for it, brace yourself and explore the playlist below.

Dangerous Animals
The film follows Zephyr, a savvy and free-spirited surfer, who is abducted by a shark-obsessed serial killer and held captive on his boat. From there, she must figure out how to escape before he carries out a ritualistic feeding to the sharks below.
The Institute
The Institute follows the story of teen genius Luke Ellis (Freeman), who is kidnapped and awakens at The Institute, a facility full of children who all got there the same way he did and who are all possessed of unusual abilities. In a nearby town, haunted former police officer Tim Jamieson (Barnes) has come looking to start a new life, but the peace and quiet won’t last, as his story and Luke’s are destined to collide.
40 Acres
Set in a near future where the only measure of wealth is food production, 40 Acres follows Hailey Freeman, a Black military veteran who must protect her family in the aftermath of a second Civil War that broke America and threatens to envelop her farm in rural Canada. Haunted by the murder of her father, she is certain of three things: she only trusts one person outside the family; never again will she allow anyone to take what’s hers; and she will do anything to protect their four children.
Let the Devil In
A haunting and mysterious four-episode documentary series about a decades-old tragedy that destroyed one family and ignited the darkest fears of a small New Jersey town. For the first time, witnesses, friends, and community members try to make sense of the unthinkable events, some believing that Satan took hold of a vulnerable teen boy, while others believe that far more earthly demons were to blame.
Carrie
Carrie White, a shy, friendless teenage girl who is sheltered by her domineering, religious mother, unleashes her telekinetic powers after being humiliated by her classmates at her senior prom.

Candyman (2021)
A sequel to the horror film Candyman (1992) that returns to the now-gentrified Chicago neighborhood where the legend began.
Please note: this title is available for limited time only, and will expire on 31st October
The Forest (2016)
A young woman’s desperate search for her twin sister brings her to a ghost-filled stretch of wilderness known as the ‘Suicide Forest.’
Child’s Play (1988, 2018)
A mother gives her 13-year-old son a toy doll for his birthday, unaware of its more sinister nature.
Please note: this title is available for limited time only, and will expire on 31st October
Psycho: The Lost Tapes of Ed Gein
Follows grave robber and serial killer Ed Gein, better known as “The Ghoul of Plainfield” and “The Mad Butcher,” from whose crimes such iconic films as “Psycho,” “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre,” and “The Silence of the Lambs” have emerged.

REVIEWS
We can personally vouch for the quality of these titles. We took a deep dive into Dangerous Animals and had a blast. In his review, our reviewer Carl Roberts said, “Anyone expecting to go in and see yet another rip-off of Jaws is in for a shock, in a nice way. This is more of a battle of wits between a serial killer and a free-spirited young woman he intends to feed to sharks. Of course, the finned creatures get their teeth into a human or two, but that’s not the film’s crux. Think of a mix between the outstanding Australian thriller Dead Calm from 1988, Open Water, and The Shallows, and you’ll get the general idea. However, the film is more than that. It has the audience biting their fingernails to the quick almost immediately.” Read his review here.
What’s more, we had a thrilling time with Stephen King’s The Institute. In my review, I said, “The Institute is an absolute triumph. The series delivers a wonderfully layered, rich, compelling, and entertaining adaptation of King’s novel that will keep you on the edge of your seat for weeks to come. With its impressive performances by its three leads and the masterwork of Bender behind the camera, the series is an engrossing slow burn. Bender doesn’t waste a second of Benjamin Cavell’s expertly layered screenplay and uses the material to build the tension as each episode progresses. The series ends with a wonderfully weighted climax that will delight and tantalize the audience with the potential of what lies ahead. In the end, the series delivers a thoroughly enjoyable eight-episode rollercoaster ride of edge-of-your-seat suspense that will leave its mark — a hallmark of a great thriller.” Read my full review here.
