606 Distribution has announced it will release Irish Writer/Director Liam O Mochain’s 4th feature film Abode in UK Cinemas from 20th March. The announcement follows the film’s sold-out world premiere at the 2025 Galway Film Fleadh and recent acclaimed Irish cinema release. IndieCork praised the film as “a truly beautiful work and a reminder of how powerful independent cinema can be”.
THE PREMISE
Filmed over a 3-year period in Ireland, Abode tells five stories connected by the theme of home and what it means to the different characters, all inspired by true stories. In these stories, characters are living in mansions, on the street, in a big city or in the countryside. Thus, home has a different meaning for each of them. Benedict is closing his family restaurant for the Christmas break. He sees Carol sleeping outside and asks her to move on, but she’s not going anywhere.
Peggy receives a visit from a former suitor. Her son is not happy and will do whatever it takes to keep them apart. Molly is anxiously getting ready for a big event. As a result, her husband and children tiptoe around her. Skyler and Sam buy a smart oven for their new home. It slowly takes over their lives. Conor and Maria are on a weekend away without their children. However, not everything goes to plan.
The film has received great critical acclaim, such as:
