The Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 OVERRIDE Battle Pass is Activated. Gaming Legends Arise!

Fortnite Override Brings 45 Years of Gaming Icons to the Island. Get ready to race against Sonic, Tails, and a host of new Battle Pass characters.
Get ready to level up, because Fortnite’s new season is finally here, and it’s bringing 45 years of Gaming Icons to the map. That’s right, it’s time for a whole new Battle Pass, and there are tons of new characters, new cosmetics, new weapons, new upgrades, and new Sprites to get to grips with. But if that isn’t enough to have you launching from the Battle Bus, a treasure trove of new characters is coming to take over Battle Royale, and a SEGA icon is leading the charge.
Sonic the Hedgehog and his crew lead the charge this season with Sonic Power Sneakers for a Spin Dash or an airborne Spin Attack, and the Tails Sprite, which helps you hover in the air. Players can also suit up with Mega Man’s legendary Mega Buster, lay down cover fire behind a Tetris Rift, visit Pac-Man Island, and more.
OVERRIDE IN OVERDRIVE
In Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4: Override – Break the rules. Activate Overrides. Uncover real-world Lobby Hacks. Enter Cheat Codes across the Island. Race through Green Hill Zone with Sonic the Hedgehog’s Power Sneakers and toss a Tetris Rift with your favorite gaming legends.
Override Consoles appear in every match and let you rewrite the rules for the entire server, but you have to get there first. Your name displays around the console base, so everyone knows who’s in control. Rare Squad Overrides buff only the squad that grabs it first, but beware: they broadcast your location on the map.
A NEW BATTLE PASS
Interestingly, the Chapter 7 Season 4 Battle Pass contains just one gaming collaboration, despite Epic Games teasing an absolutely bonkers lineup of gaming icons for Fortnite Override. We already know Persona 5, Mega Man, Crash Bandicoot, Spyro the Dragon, Pac-Man, Kingdom Hearts, and several other gaming franchises are joining the party. However, Sonic the Hedgehog is the only gaming crossover currently included in the Battle Pass. So, where does that leave everyone else?
Well, it looks like most of these legendary characters will be making their grand entrances through the Item Shop instead. And frankly, we’re totally okay with that! Rather than cramming every gaming icon into the Battle Pass, Epic could have a constant parade of video game legends hitting the Item Shop throughout the season. One week you could be running around as Sonic, the next you could be causing chaos as Crash, and before you know it, Spyro could be breathing fire all over the island!

ITEM SHOP DROPS
And the gaming goodness doesn’t stop with the Battle Pass! As mentioned, even more gaming legends will be storming into the Item Shop throughout Fortnite Override, bringing a treasure trove of new Outfits, weapons, cosmetics, and plenty of crossover chaos.
Among the goodies on the way are the iconic Kingdom Key from KINGDOM HEARTS, a dual-wielded AR and SMG inspired by Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, plus brand-new Outfits from Persona 5 Royal, Crash Bandicoot, Spyro the Dragon, and more. Basically, if you have a favorite gaming franchise, there’s a very good chance Epic has something hiding up its sleeve!
But first up, it’s time to crank up the speed because Sonic the Hedgehog is taking over the Item Shop! Players will be able to get their hands on Knuckles and Shadow, complete with a gold ring’s worth of emotes, transformation abilities, and cosmetics. Whether you fancy racing around the island as the red echidna or embracing your darker side as Shadow, there’s plenty here to keep Sonic fans smiling.
And, of course, no Sonic showdown would be complete without his most infamous rival. Dr. Eggman is also joining the party, setting the stage for what could be the ultimate blue-blur battle royale!
MIDAS MASTERPIECE GAMEPLAY & NEW SPRITES
While in-game, get your hands on Midas’ Masterpiece pistol for one-headshot instagibs, or power up and take your enemies offline with Mega Man’s legendary Mega Buster arm cannon. Later in the season, there’s KINGDOM HEARTS’ Kingdom Key, Rebecca’s Guns from Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, and more.
Season 4 also brings a new generation of Sprites to Battle Royale. Your Sprites from Season 3: Runners are here to stay in the new Sprite Garden mode, where you can play with them and show off your collection to friends. As you catch new Sprites, spend your Sprite Dust on Loot Hacks to customize what drops from your Chests in BR by adding bonus items you can’t find anywhere else.
SONIC ZOOMS INTO FORTNITE
Sonic fans can look forward to racing through Green Hill Zone with Sonic Power Sneakers and the Tails Sprite, and I can think of no better way to celebrate the character’s 35th anniversary. Even Takashi Iizuka, Sonic Creative Officer, Sega of America Inc., can’t wait for the legendary blue hedgehog to take over the map!
