(1) Spider-Man: Brand New Day

Continuing its impressive box office run, Spider-Man: Brand New Day pulled in £6,148,221 in its third weekend. Its overall total is now £78,755,985, approaching the £80 million mark.

(2) The Odyssey

The Odyssey also continues its blazing performance at the box office, with £3,761,881 in its fifth weekend of release. Its overall total is now £69,086,595, very close to passing the £70 million mark. It’s the highest performing Christopher Nolan film in the UK

(3) The End of Oak Street

Anne Hathaway and Ewan McGregor team up to fight dinosaurs in The End of Oak Street, and it pulled in £2,112,782 in its opening weekend. It’s an OK haul, nearly double the opening of the previous movie starring Star Wars actor Adam Driver, who faced off against dinosaurs in the 2023 film 65, which opened to £1,270,409.

(4) Katseye: Wild Hearts

Katseye: Wild Hearts, a documentary following the global girl group KATSEYE ahead of their third EP, WILD, opened to £725,419. As this is a special release, the film will likely fall out of the top ten next weekend.

(5) Paw Patrol: The Dino Movie

For its second weekend, Paw Patrol: The Dino Movie barked up £695,004, which is a heavy 59% drop from its opening weekend. The competition in the family space is hot right now, and it seems like The Dino Movie is a victim on that.

(6) Toy Story 5

Toy Story 5 is still in the box office top ten after nine weekends, but it’s holding strong in the number six spot with £527,794. It’s got to £55,248,189 overall, so it might just make £60 million before it runs out of steam.

(7) Minions & Monsters

While Minions & Monsters does continue to show its box office legs, appearing at number seven in its seventh weekend of release, the film has struggled to attract the totals it needs to be a good box office performance. It brought in £403,734 this weekend, for an overall total of £12,742,878, which is well below that of its predecessors.

(8) Tony

A24’s latest entry, Tony, opened to £402,472, right behind Minions & Monsters. Tony follows the 19-year-old Anthony Bourdain as he travels to Provincetown, Massachusetts, and stumbles into the chaotic, high-adrenaline world of a restaurant kitchen.

(9) Moana

Swimming against the box office tide, the live-action Moana film pulled in £326,264 in its sixth weekend of release. The film will likely be out of the top ten by the end of next weekend, which is a huge disappointment for Disney. Its overall total stands at £12,742,878.

(10) Vishwanath & Sons

Vishwanath & Sons, a UK/Indian film, opened to £279,945 to round out the top ten. The synopsis reads: Sanjay Vishwanath is a wealthy former Olympic gold medalist and businessman who has sworn off marriage. Pressured by his mother to secure an heir, he opts for surrogacy to build his family. However, when his infant son falls seriously ill, the surrogate mother, Maddy, enters their lives, and an unexpected emotional bond and romance develop between them.

Next weekend sees the opening of the long-awaited Coyote vs Acme.
