Black Series Review: Leia (Hoth) | Star Wars: Empire Strikes Back

Carrie Fisher is immortalised in the Black Series range thanks to Hasbro’s cutting-edge facial recognition software

Following up on its success with Leia (Bespin Escape) from The Empire Strikes Back, Hasbro has released Leia (Hoth)! She’s part of the wave that includes Rio Durant, Lando Calrissian (Skiff Guard) and Dengar.

As Bespin Escape and Hoth are very similar outfits, the figure has the same sculpt except for the boots and the head sculpt. The Hoth figure also has a jacket and includes a rebel blaster plus accessories to repair the Millenium Falcon. With regards to the blaster, it would have been better if they had included Leia’s traditional pistol as well, it’s kind of iconic to her character.

It’s not just the haircut that is different, the face is slightly different as well, it’s a bit more oval. The face sculpt is amazing, it has a great likeness to Carrie Fisher. Given the similarities between Leia Bespin Escape and Hoth, I really hope Hasbro build on this success and produce a long overdue Leia figure from Star Wars: The Last Jedi!

The suit is screen accurate and has nice paint apps with beautiful details. The figure has 19 points of articulation.

Final Thoughts:

Leia (Hoth) is an excellent figure and a great addition to the Black Series!
