Tamashii Nations has unveiled the hotly anticipated Michael Keaton Dark Knight action figure … and it’s available to pre-order NOW!
Call Alexander Knox at the Gotham Globe and tell him to hold the front page. There REALLY IS a six-foot bat in Gotham City and he is coming to Bandai’s’ S.H. Figuarts line!
This past week reports emerged from Tamashii’s official Instagram account suggesting the imminent announcement of something truly special for Batman fans everywhere and they have not disappointed us. We are delighted to confirm that Tamashii Nations will be adding the iconic Michael Keaton Dark Knight from Tim Burton’s classic 1989 movie to its incredible S.H. Figuarts line-up later in the year. If that isn’t enough to have you reaching for your anti-shark repellant bat-spray, Tamashii also revealed a catalog of glorious new images which you can enjoy below:
First Look: S.H.Figuarts Batman (BATMAN 1989) Bandai Limited
How cool is this figure? As well as being visually stunning, the release notes list the accessories as being the grapnel gun, the gauntlet, a Batarang, two shurikens, and cape holding parts. However, one of the images reveals our beloved Dark Knight to be holding his bike pedal punch (seen in the latter stages of the movie), but this isn’t listed amongst the accessories. Hopefully, this accessory will be incorporated amongst the additional hands.
Once again, Bandai appears to have outdone themselves. Batman looks incredible and is sure to delight Bat-fans everywhere. The detail on the costume and the material used for the cape are top notch making this figure one of the hottest pre-orders around. And speaking of pre-orders, this figure is listed as a BANDAI WEB EXCLUSIVE meaning they will be in short supply. Ordering options are hitting our favorite importers as we speak so be sure to click that button sooner rather than later.
The retail price for this figure is $68 with an expected shipping date of September.
Moving forward, could this mean we can expect to see other characters from Tim Burton’s Batman universe making an appearance in the line? Dare we hope to see Jack Nicholson’s Joker in the six-inch scale or even Vicky Vale? Maybe even Keaton’s Bruce Wayne with interchangeable Bat accessories? Could we see a whole new line featuring characters from Batman Returns and Batman Forever?
Or will Bandai deliver the ultimate fan dream and produce a six-inch scale Batmobile? Only time will tell, but this figure has our team super excited and we cannot wait to open the box and review it!
Check back for the latest updates as they arrive.
