Mads Mikkelsen joins Harrison Ford and Phoebe Waller-Bridge in Lucasfilm’s final Indiana Jones adventure!
Following the news that Phoebe Waller-Bridge has joined the cast of the final Indiana Jones adventure; word reaches us that screen legend Mads Mikkelsen will also be joining Harrison Ford for his swansong.
Mikkelsen has a very impressive resume following roles in Star Wars, James Bond, Marvel, and Fantastic Beasts. And now, he will be joining Henry Jones Junior in what will be his last great adventure. As expected, Lucasfilm is keeping Mikkelsen’s role under wraps for the time being; as they have with Phoebe Waller-Bridge. But with casting moving along at pace, new details about the adventure should come to light very soon.
James Mangold (Logan) is taking over directorial duties from Steven Spielberg, who is still overseeing the project in a producer’s capacity. Kathleen Kennedy, Frank Marshall, and Simon Emanuel will join Spielberg as producers. John Williams, who has composed the score of EVERY single entry in the franchise will return for the final outing.
“I’m thrilled to be starting a new adventure, collaborating with a dream team of all-time great filmmakers,” said the film’s director James Mangold. “Steven, Harrison, Kathy, Frank, and John are all artistic heroes of mine. When you add Phoebe, a dazzling actor, brilliant creative voice, and the chemistry she will undoubtedly bring to our set, I can’t help but feel as lucky as Indiana Jones himself.”
Production is expected to get underway this summer. The film is expected to release on July 29, 2022, where the search for fortune and glory continues!
