Annlyel shares her reaction to The Falcon And The Winter Soldier season finale, and the birth of a new Captain America!
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is over and whoa, whoa, whoa. What an ending! Marvel Studios is one of the greatest franchises of all time because it never backs down from the assignment. Every time you think these movies can’t get better or the characters’ developments have come to an end things just keep happening to take the story (and the stakes) to the next level.
ENDGAME
I’m not going to lie. When Avengers: Endgame concluded I didn’t think we’d be getting any more MCU content that good for at least five years. Spider-Man: Far From Home was fun, but it wasn’t something to have me jump up and down with joy for. And then we got WandaVision to start Phase 4 and it just doesn’t seem like Marvel is slowing down anytime soon.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier proved that point by giving us Sam’s evolution into Captain America profoundly and poignantly; while giving us plenty of drama along the way. Taking Bucky on this journey with him was perfect and adding Wyatt Russel’s John Walker to the mix was once again impeccable thinking on Feige’s part.
And yes, this is all based on comics that have already set the foundation but you still have to adapt it right and just…wow did they deliver.
SPOILERS AHEAD for the FINALE!
Seeing Anthony Mackie in that epic Captain America suit is such a powerful image. I almost still can’t believe that this moment has arrived. Giving him a chance to have a powerful speech that rivals Steve Rogers’ speeches is so moving and memorable.
Plus, having Isaiah Bradley memorialized was such a beautiful and impactful scene. I couldn’t contain my emotions as Bradley’s face crumbled under the realization that he had finally been recognized for what he had done for his country. I think the beautiful thing about this show is that it perfectly shows that Sam Wilson isn’t Steve Rogers but he is just as inspiring and knows exactly what to fight for. He’s there for his family, his friends, and yes, he’s even willing to listen to the enemy if they deliver a compelling enough argument.
STEVE ROGERS
Steve Rogers knew that Sam Wilson was the only man qualified to take on the mantle after him and he was correct. I honestly can’t wait for the second season which is most likely coming in 2023. Or maybe it’ll be a movie. We’ll have to wait and see but for now, I will cherish what Marvel has given us. It’s honestly one of their best accomplishments and very worthy of joining the Captain America quadrilogy.
The Falcon And The Winter Soldier is streaming exclusively on Disney+ Now!
