WandaVision is over. And that means it’s time to rank every episode in the series. Here we go!
9. Episode 4: We Interrupt This Program
Episode 4 was the first episode in the season to let people know what was going on. For me, I missed the sitcom-themes.
8. Episode 6: All-New Halloween Spooktacular!
One of the episodes I was most excited to see was the Halloween-inspired one but it just didn’t suck me in the way I thought it would. And it ended way too quickly for my liking.
7. Episode 9: The Series Finale
I wanted to love the final episode of this riveting series but I was torn in two by the show’s conclusion. The first half of the episode felt like it was overstuffed with eye-rollable moments and cheesy quotes, the second half is fun and then quite emotionally impactful. But by the time the episode ended I found myself wishing more threads had been resolved and I couldn’t fully enjoy the finale that we were given.
(But I still can’t wait for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness!)
6. Episode 2: Don’t Touch That Dial
The second episode for me wasn’t as enjoyable as the first but it still had its charm. And I still love it when Wanda rewinds her reality when she sees Agent Franklin by simply saying, “No.” Wanda’s a boss!
5. Episode 1: Filmed Before a Live Studio Audience
The first episode was the one that set the tone of the series and I was taken aback by how much attention to detail to the episode’s 50s’ theme. It made me laugh, it made me happy, and THAT moment at dinner is still the creepiest in the entire series.
4. Episode 3: Now In Color
The 70s episode was another really fun one for me. Once again, the humor was on point. I loved Wanda and Vision’s 70s getups, Wanda being pregnant and having children was a fun occasion, and I loved Monica’s role in the episode. Plus, the theme for this episode was my personal favorite.
“Ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba. WandaVision. Ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba. WandaVision.”
3. Episode 7: Breaking the Fourth Wall
Modern Family is one of my favorite comedies so this episode, inspired by the show, was hilarious! And Vision’s quote to Darcy “We locked eyes. There was an unspoken understanding” is now one of my favorite quotes in the entire MCU. It makes me laugh EVERY TIME!
Plus, the creepy ending which leads into that iconic “Agatha All Along” song was just perfection.
2. Episode 5: On a Very Special Episode…
This was that episode that was so easy to watch. It was fun, funny, and it just had so many wonderful moments. The kids changing their age, Wanda’s confrontation with S.W.O.R.D, Vision and Wanda’s clash, and then that jaw-dropping ending that had people losing their minds…until this week, lol.
And Wanda rolling the credits on Vision…iconic!
1. Episode 8: Previously On
One thing I didn’t know this series would give us was a gut-wrenching recap episode which would highlight the moments that made Wanda eventually completely break and create the reality that she wanted.
We learned why she made a sitcom-inspired reality, we got to see the beginnings of her relationship with Vision, we got to learn that she had a vision of her eventual full transformation into the Scarlet Witch, and we had to watch the traumatic scene where she was forced to look at Vision at being torn apart part by part.
There were a lot of tears being wept by fans around the world two weeks ago including my own, and even though the finale was a bit underwhelming this episode alone made the series worth watching.
It was utter chill and tear-inducing perfection!
VERDICT
Overall, I’ll give the series a solid B+. It wasn’t perfect but it was quite the heck of an origin story for the Scarlet Witch and worth every agonizingly suspenseful moment.
