Annlyel is checking out the next releases from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Which is your pick of the bunch?
Last year for the first time since 2009 we got nothing from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. No shows, no movies, nothing. But Marvel Studios knew they would make up for that by giving us ten installments this year! Yeah, ten. It seems overwhelming, especially when one realizes that we’re about to get six installments in four months. But because everything is so vastly different, each installment feels like an event.
Of the next six entries–What If…?, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Eternals, Spider-Man: No Way Home, Hawkeye, and Ms. Marvel–what am I looking most forward to?
PHASE 4
Even though there are so many fantastic installments approaching and Hawkeye seems like it’ll be the underdog of the bunch I can’t help feeling most excited to see Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Most of my excitement is coming from a place of bias considering that Doctor Strange, being my favorite Marvel superhero, will play a prominent role in the film. But I am also just very curious to see how the events of Loki will affect this third film in the Spider-Man trilogy. We already know Alfred Molina and Jamie Foxx will be reprising their roles as Doctor Octopus and Electro in the film. What other surprises could Marvel Studios have in store for us though?
I also have a feeling that Spider-Man: No Way Home will probably be the darkest film in the trilogy considering that it’s going to have to challenge Peter Parker in a way he’s never been tested before. And that is another reason why this is undoubtedly the next MCU installment I’m most excited to see this year.
