Look out Universal Monsters fans. The Wolf Man, Dracula, Frankenstein, and The Invisible Man return in glorious 4K this Halloween!
The Universal Monsters Collection is one of the crown jewels of my Blu-Ray collection. I adore the black and white classics. I even own them on various streaming platforms. But now, the game has changed!
This Halloween, an all-new 4K Blu-Ray set is rising from the grave. The Universal Classic Monsters: Icons of Horror Collection will release on October 5, and includes new 4K scans of The Wolf Man (1941); Frankenstein (1931); The Invisible Man (1933), and Dracula (1931). These icons of cinema have been restored and remastered using the best elements over the past ten years, and come with a host of special features.
- The Road to Dracula.
- The Frankenstein Files: How Hollywood Made a Monster.
- Karloff: The Gentle Monster.
- Monster by Moonlight.
- The Wolf Man: From Ancient Curse to Modern Myth.
- Now You See Him: The Invisible Man Revealed
CREATURE FEATURE
Sadly, other iconic Universal Monsters like The Creature From The Black Lagoon, and The Mummy aren’t included in the set. But on the strength of this glorious 4K boxset, surely it’s only a matter of time before we see more creatures emerge from the vault. And thanks to the inclusion of a digital copy, we’ll be able to watch them whenever the mood takes us! Just try and avoid watching them during a full moon!
Will you be adding this glorious 4K Blu-ray set to your collection? Leave a comment below. I’d love to hear about your favorite creature features.

If he’s not in the cinema he’s probably streaming something equally awesome!
It doesn’t have the gill man or the mummy! No bride or son of Frankenstein as well.
Sadly not. Hopefully they’ll be released in the next set! We can’t have a Universal Monsters set without the Gill Man.
