Franchise icon Nyota Uhura meets the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise in the newest promo for Star Trek: Strange New Worlds
Although it still doesn’t have a definite release date here in the U.K. Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is warping towards its release on Paramount Plus. The series, which follows the adventures of Captain Christopher Pike launches on the platform on May 5. And eager to ensure we are suitably excited, the streamer has given the order to launch the promo campaign with a boost of impulse power.
Today, the streamer has debuted a new character promo for Star Trek icon Nyota Uhura. Filling the shoes of the unswervable Nichelle Nichols in the series is the super-talented Celia Rose Gooding. And she is front and center of the promo which you can enjoy below:

It’s always a pleasure to see Uhura on the bridge of the Enterprise. But what’s more notable is the treasure trove of new images this promo reveals. What they mean is anyone’s guess, but with the series looking this good Strange New Worlds has already cemented itself as the must-see TV event of the year.
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds stars Anson Mount as Captain Pike, Rebecca Romjin as Number One, and Ethan Peck as Spock. Joining them are Jess Bush as Nurse Christine Chapel, Christina Chong as La’an Noonien-Singh, Celia Rose Gooding as Cadet Nyota Uhura, Melissa Navia as Lt. Erica Ortegas, Babs Olusanmokun as Dr. M’Benga and Bruce Horak as Hemmer.
The series premieres on Paramount+ in the US on May 5, 2022.
