With the season of the witch fading into the distance for another year, Shudder is busy planning its post-Halloween sack of goodies. And with the festive season just around the corner, the premium horror streamer is loading its sleigh with presents for the horror fans among us. And believe me, these treats are far more tantalizing than any candy cane! If you were hoping for a really good festive scare, you’re in for a real treat!
NEW RELEASES
Aside from premiering the Joe Begos’ Santa Claus meets The Terminator horror flick Christmas Bloody Christmas, the streamer is pulling out all the stops with a sack full of festive horror treats. Titles like All the Creatures Were Stirring, A Christmas Horror Story, Deadly Games, and the Creepshow Holiday Special will all be on hand to see us through the cold festive nights. And if that isn’t enough to have you grabbing a mince pie or two, Travis Stevens’ Original horror flick A Wounded Fawn will drag us kicking and screaming into the darkest corners of Greek mythology! But don’t take my word for it. Grab the arm of your chair; move to the edge of your seat, and grab the cushions because Shudder’s Christmas horror watchlist is the gift that keeps on giving…jump scares!
The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula: Titans – A Shudder Original Series
New Episodes continue on Tuesdays with the season finale premiering Tuesday 20 December. The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula: Titans brings together some of the most popular drag icons from the show’s previous seasons competing in a grand championship of drag artistry and shocking physical challenges for a one hundred-thousand-dollar grand prize, the headlining spot on the upcoming world tour, and the first-ever “Dragula Titans” crown and title. Guest Judges include Cassandra Peterson (Elvira), Harvey Guillen, Justin Simien, David Dastmalchian, Poppy, Alaska, Katya, Joe Bob Briggs, Bonnie Aarons, Barbara Crampton, and more.
A Wounded Fawn – A Shudder Original
Premieres Thursday 1 December. Inspired by surrealist art and Greek mythology, A Wounded Fawn follows the story of Meredith Tanning (Sarah Lind, The Humanity Bureau), a local museum curator who is dipping her toe back into the dating pool, only to be targeted by a charming serial killer (Josh Ruben, Scare Me). When a fateful romantic getaway between the two becomes a tense game of cat and mouse, both must confront the madness within him. Written and directed by Travis Stevens (Jakob’s Wife).
Christmas Bloody Christmas – A Shudder Original
It’s Christmas Eve and fiery record store owner Tori Tooms (Riley Dandy, That’s Amor) just wants to get drunk and party, until the robotic Santa Claus at a nearby toy store goes haywire and makes her night more than a little complicated. Santa Claus begins a rampant killing spree through the neon drenched snowscape against a backdrop of drugs, sex, metal and violence, ultimately forcing Tori into a blood splattered battle for survival against the ruthless heavy metal Saint Nick himself. Also starring Sam Delich (Spiderhead), Jonah Ray Rodrigues (“Mystery Science Theater 3000”), Dora Madison (Alone with You), Jeremy Gardner (After Midnight), with Jeff Daniel Phillips (The Munsters) and Abraham Benrubi (“ER”), written and directed by Joe Begos (V.F.W.). Premieres Friday 9 December.
The Apology – A Shudder Exclusive
Twenty years after the disappearance of her daughter, recovering alcoholic Darlene Hagan (Anna Gunn, Breaking Bad) is preparing to host her family’s Christmas celebration again with the help of her friend and neighbor, Gretchen (Janeane Garofalo, Wet Hot American Summer). Late Christmas Eve, Darlene’s estranged ex-brother-in-law, Jack (Linus Roache, Mandy) arrives unannounced, bearing nostalgic gifts and a heavy secret. Soon, Darlene finds herself caught between reason and ruthless instinct. Trapped together by a dangerous storm, a battle of wits escalates to a violent game of revenge. Written and directed by Alison Locke. Premieres Friday 16 December.

When horror guru Rad Chad Buckley’s funeral turns into an elaborate series of death traps centered around Chad’s favorite films, the guests must band together and use the rules of horror to survive the bloody game. Core Story: Rad Chad’s Revenge directed by Aaron B. Koontz. Segments: Welcome to the 90s directed by Alexandra Barreto, The Night He Came Back Again Part VI – The Night She Came Back directed by Anthony Cousins, Special Edition directed by Jed Shepherd, and We’re So Dead directed by Rachele Wiggins. Rose’s dream is to become a famous designer in the fashion world, but a terrible accident leaves Rose scarred beyond recognition in this remake of David Cronenberg’s cult classic by fellow Canadian horror provocateurs, The Soska Sisters. Streaming December 5th.
Rabid (1977)
In David Cronenberg’s must-see cult favorite, a woman named Rose (Marilyn Chambers) develops a thirst for blood after receiving experimental surgery. When Rose wakes up, she finds a stinger under her armpit which she uses to feed off victims, who later turn rabid and attack others. RABID is body horror as only Cronenberg can do, with sex and death inextricably linked thanks to Rose’s phallic parasite. Streaming December 5th.
Memento
Leonard remembers everything up to the night his wife was brutally killed. But since then he has suffered from amnesia. Streaming 12th December.
Pin
An emotionally neglected brother and sister take comfort in their imaginary friend Pin, a anatomical dummy belonging to their doctor father. When their parents die in a car crash, the siblings rebel and brother, Leon brings Pin into the house to live with them. Sister Ursula happily entertains her brother’s delusions, but when she gets a new boyfriend and becomes absent, Leon and Pin begin to turn on her and anyone that gets in the way of their special family. Reminiscent of Hitchcock’s Psycho with its unsettling psycho-sexual familial feel, PIN is an underrated 80s horror gem. Streaming 12th December.
The Police Are Blundering in the Dark
During an outbreak of violent murders in the area targeting young women, a journalist searching for a female friend gone missing ends up in a villa owned by an eccentric photographer. Streaming 12th December.
The Killer is One of Thirteen
A widow invites thirteen guests to stay at her rural mansion. She reveals to them that she suspects whoever killed her husband must be one of them. Soon, they too are being murdered one by one. Streaming 12th December.
Girl in Room 2A
A sadistic killer cult kidnaps and sacrifices beautiful women. A young girl, just paroled from prison, moves into a strange house and appears to be the cult’s next victim. Streaming 12th December.
