Russell Crowe plays the real-life Chief Exorcist of the Vatican, Father Gabrielle Amorth in the official trailer and poster for Sony Pictures’ The Pope’s Exorcist.
Hitting cinemas on April 7th, the supernatural horror film The Pope’s Exorcist will be scaring the pants off of us. Inspired by the actual files of Father Gabrielle Amorth, the film stars Russell Crowe as Amorth. He is ably supported by Daniel Zovatto, Alex Essoe, and the legendary Franco Nero. The movie was filmed in Ireland. Sony Pictures has today revealed the official trailer and poster for the film. Grab your crucifix and pray as we take our first look:
THE SYNOPSIS
Inspired by the actual files of Father Gabriele Amorth, Chief Exorcist of the Vatican (Academy Award®-winner Russell Crowe), The Pope’s Exorcist follows Amorth as he investigates a young boy’s terrifying possession and ends up uncovering a centuries-old conspiracy the Vatican has desperately tried to keep hidden.
