Star Wars: Visions Volume 2 begins epically and never lets up, delivering nine beautiful shorts that seem to get better and better!
Two years ago, Lucasfilm introduced us to maybe their most giant experiment yet: Star Wars: Visions. The series, featuring nine animated shorts from different animating houses, was an interesting take on a saga we love so much. These stories captured the franchise’s spirit and showed us something new. Imagination. This year, we got the second volume for Visions, and to say it exceeded my expectations is an understatement.
Star Wars: Visions Volume 2 begins epically and never lets up, delivering nine beautiful shorts that seem to get better and better! And it wasn’t just that the varying animation styles were so lovely, but the diversity and the apparent focus on culture were stunning.

ANIMATED SHORTS
My favorite shorts were ‘Screecher’s Reach,’ ‘In the Stars,’ and ‘The Bandits of Golak.’ These shorts were beautiful and emotionally impactful, and each short left me staring at my screen in awe-inspired wonder. It made me want to see more stories told by people worldwide because it’s apparent it can be done. I’ve always wanted to see their unique take on this franchise. It was also refreshing to see some of these stories in timelines that allowed for more creative room. The current series and movies often don’t allow for much exploration because of the limits the stories place on themselves.
In Visions, we see new corners of the galaxy and new characters, which is lovely. I desperately want more of that. I hope that we get more volumes. And I hope that Lucasfilm sees our excitement for this refreshing content and decides to give us more stories with this level of creativity.
Both Volumes of Star Wars: Visions are streaming on Disney Plus now.
