The 2023 MTV Movie & TV Awards have been handed out in Los Angeles, honoring the biggest and brightest.
Although the in-person ceremony was canceled due to many presenters pulling out in solidarity with the Writers Guild of America (WGA) going on strike, that didn’t stop the 2023 MTV Movie & TV Awards being handed out. The format was switched to a broadcast-only virtual ceremony with no host. However, Drew Barrymore has agreed to host the ceremony live next year after dropping out of her presenter duties.
AWARDS
The awards themselves went to a diverse selection of movies, actors, and TV shows across the board. The night’s big winner was The Last Of Us, which walked away with three awards, including star Pedro Pascal walking away with the Best Hero accolade. Tom Cruise took the Best Performance In A Movie award for his return as Pete Mitchell in Top Gun: Maverick, while Elizabeth Olsen walked away with the award for Best Villain for Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness.
