Mission: Impossible-Dead Reckoning Part One Header

This week on The Official Chart, The Exorcist wants us to believe, and we get Expendable, but it’s Mission: Impossible that rules the chart!

Welcome to The Official Film Chart.

THE UK TOP TEN

This week sees two new entries and a single re-entry into the placings. To make way for these new titles, it’s time to say farewell to Saw X, Practical Magic, and M3gan. But what are these new titles, and where have they entered the chart placings? Light the fuse as we find out.

MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE BLASTS BACK TO THE TOP!

Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One flies high once again on the Official Film Chart. Following its release on disc, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One marks its third non-consecutive week at Number 1 on the Official Film Chart. It has achieved this by selling almost twice as many copies in the last seven days than the Number 2 title. (Read our review here.)

THE EXPENDABLES SHOOT THEIR WAY INTO THE CHART!

Our highest new entry of the week comes from The Expendables 4 (also stylised as Expend4bles). The action series continues with its ensemble cast, which includes Jason Statham, Sylvester Stallone, Dolph Lundgren and Randy Couture, plus some new faces including 50 Cent, Megan Fox and Tony Jaa. The Expendables are the world’s “last line of defense”, and the team that gets called when there are no other options. But with the addition of these new team members, things could be turned upside-down. (Read our review here.)

THE EXORCIST WANTS US TO BELIEVE!

We see a second brand new entry from The Exorcist: Believer which debuts at Number 9. 50 years on from the original events of The Exorcist, two young girls show signs of demonic possession, it unleashes a chain of events that forces single father Victor (Leslie Odom Jr.) to seek out Chris MacNeil, whose daughter Regan suffered the same fifty years earlier. Ellen Burstyn reprises her role of Chris MacNeil, while Linda Blair appears once more as Regan MacNeil from the original 1973 film. (Read our review here.)

FINISHING OFF!

And that is this week’s top ten home entertainment titles. As we speed towards Christmas, some big titles will be heading our way. We will also see the return of some Christmas favourites into the placings. Can Elf rule the chart again? Time will tell, so until next time…

Whatever you decide, whatever you buy, stay safe, be kind, look after each other, and happy viewing!
