Spinning its way into screens on February 14th is the movie version of the Marvel Comics character Madame Web. The movie is intended to be the fourth film in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe. Dakota Johnson stars as the title character alongside Sydney Sweeney as Julia Carpenter / Spider-Woman, Celeste O’Connor as Mattie Franklin / Spider-Woman, Isabela Merced as Anya Corazon / Araña, and Tahar Rahim as Ezekiel Sims. Mike Epps, Emma Roberts, Adam Scott, and Zosia Mamet also star in the film in undisclosed roles. The first posters for the movie were released today.
THE PREMISE
“Meanwhile, in another universe…” In a switch from the typical genre, Madame Web tells the standalone origin story of one of Marvel publishing’s most enigmatic heroines. The suspense-driven thriller stars Dakota Johnson as Cassandra Webb, a paramedic in Manhattan who may have clairvoyant abilities. Forced to confront revelations about her past, she forges a relationship with three young women destined for powerful futures…if they can all survive a deadly present.
On February 14th, 2024, the film will hit theaters and begin to spin its web.
