The Hunger Games - The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes

This week on The Official Chart, we bid farewell to Christmas, leaving The Ballad Of Songbirds And Snakes to sing itself to the top!

Welcome to The Official Film Chart.

THE UK TOP TEN

This week sees one new entry and four re-entries into the placings. These five new titles mean there is no longer any room for Love Actually, Elf, The Polar Express, Violent Night, and National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation. They have been put away until this coming Christmas. This means we have a brand new number one. So, let’s see what has slithered into the top spot.

Official Film Chart

THE BALLAD OF SONGBIRDS AND SNAKES SINGS ITS WAY TO THE TOP!

The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes is officially the first new Number 1 film of 2024. As last week’s chart-topper Love Actually sees a post-Christmas descent out of the Top 20, the prequel to the cult Hunger Games series starring Rachel Zegler flies straight in at the top on digital downloads only. 64 years before Katniss Everdeen volunteered as tribute, The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes follows the story of young Coriolanus Snow (Tom Blyth) who is, to his dismay, assigned to mentor District 12’s tribute Lucy Gray (Zegler); they find themselves forced to team up to shift their fates and turn the odds in their favour. FINISHING OFF!

And that is this week’s top ten best-selling titles. However, there is an abundance of titles that are currently available on PVOD to either rent or buy. These include Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour (Extended Edition), and the horror movie Thanksgiving. Five Nights At Freddy’s (Read our review here) and the Ridley Scott epic Napoleon (Read our review here.) With these titles and ones that are coming off of PVOD every week, there is enough entertainment to keep us all entertained. Will one of these take the top spot next week? Find out next Wednesday, so until then…

Whatever you decide, whatever you buy, stay safe, be kind, look after each other, and happy viewing!
