The Idea Of You will have its World Premiere at the SXSW Festival on 16th March. And will launch Globally on Prime Video on the 2nd of May
Based on the acclaimed novel, on May 2nd, we will see the movie version of The Idea Of You. The movie is receiving its world premiere at this year’s SXSW Festival on March 16th. It will then be available to watch on Prime Video. The film stars Anne Hathaway, Nicholas Galitzine, Ella Rubin, Annie Mumolo, Reid Scott, Perry Mattfeld, Jordan Aaron Hall, Mathilda Gianopoulos, Raymond Cham Jr., Jaiden Anthony, Viktor White, and Dakota Adan.
Directed by Michael Showalter, the film features a Screenplay by Michael Showalter and Jennifer Westfeldt, based on the Book by Robinne Lee. The producers for the film are Cathy Schulman p.g.a., Gabrielle Union p.g.a., Anne Hathaway p.g.a., Robinne Lee, Eric Hayes, Michael Showalter, and Jordana Mollick. While Douglas S. Jones, Jason Babiszewski, Jennifer Westfeldt, and Kian Gass executive produce the romantic drama. A trailer for the movie is now available.
PREMISE
Based on the acclaimed, contemporary love story of the same name, The Idea of You centres on Solène (Anne Hathaway), a 40-year-old single mum who begins an unexpected romance with 24-year-old Hayes Campbell (Nicholas Galitzine), the lead singer of August Moon, the hottest boy band on the planet. When Solène must step in to chaperone her teenage daughter’s trip to the Coachella Music Festival after her ex bails at the last minute, she has a chance encounter with Hayes and there is an instant, undeniable spark. As they begin a whirlwind romance, it isn’t long before Hayes’ superstar status poses unavoidable challenges to their relationship, and Solène soon discovers that life in the glare of his spotlight might be more than she bargained for.

To complement the film, the fictional band August Moon released the lead single “Dance Before We Walk,” which can be heard in the trailer. You can listen to the song on digital streams here.
