This week on The Official Chart, we have One Life, and Poor Things arrive, leaving Aquaman to reign supreme at the top!
Welcome to The Official Film Chart.
THE TOP TEN
This week sees two new entries and three re-entries into the chart. As a result of this, we must say farewell to Migration, Argylle, The Equalizer 3, Ghostbusters: Afterlife, and All Of Us Strangers. But what is occupying that all-important number-one position? Grab your stuff as we take our chart journey.

AQUAMAN REIGNS SUPREME AT THE TOP OF THE CHART!
Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom retains its reign over the Official Film Chart for a third non-consecutive week. The blockbuster, starring Jason Mamoa, Amber Heard and Nicole Kidman, first debuted at Number 1 on February 14; before vaulting 22 places back to the summit last week (March 27). (Read our review here.)

WONKA STUCK AT NUMBER TWO!
Wonka manages to get himself stuck in toffee this week as he holds firm at Number 2. (Read our review here.)

ONE LIFE IS ONE HIGH NEW ENTRY!
This week’s highest new entry comes courtesy of One Life at Number 3. It tells the true story of Sir Nicholas ‘Nicky’ Winton, a young London broker who, in the months leading up to World War II, rescued 669 predominantly Jewish children from the Nazis.

HOP HOPS BACK INTO THE CHART!
The Easter Bank Holiday weekend sees Hop jump 34 places back into the Top 10 this week at Number 4. The 2011 film sees E.B., the Easter Bunny’s son, head to Hollywood in pursuit of his rock’n’roll drummer dream.

WISH’S WISH IS GRANTED!
Also leaping up the Official Film Chart this week is Wish, up 20 spots to Number 5. With Ariana DeBose as the voice of Asha, Wish sees the lead character get more than she bargained for when wishing upon a star.

OPPENHEIMER FIZZLING OUT AGAIN!
Multi-Oscar winner Oppenheimer is starting to fizzle out again as it drops two places to Number 6.

BARBIE STAYS PUT!
He’s Just Ken, but Barbie decides to hang around to entertain some more as she holds firm at Number 7. (Read our review here.)

ANYONE BUT YOU IS BACK!
Former Number One Anyone But You returns to the chart, rising nine places to Number 8.

YOU’VE BEEN MEAN TO THE MEAN GIRLS!
After singing its way into the chart last week at Number 3, the musical remake of Mean Girls loses its voice as it plunges six places to Number 9. (Read our review here.)

READY TO MEET SOME POOR THINGS?
Finally, the Yorgos Lanthimos-directed comedy-drama Poor Things – starring Emma Stone and Mark Ruffalo – makes its Top 10 debut this week following its release on disc at Number 10.

DO YOU FANCY TAKING A SPIN WITH MADAME WEB?
And that’s the end of that for another week. However, competition is coming for the chart next week. It comes in the form of Columbia Pictures’ newest chapter in its Spider-Verse, Madame Web. The film stars Dakota Johnson as Cassandra “Cassie” Webb / Madame Web alongside Sydney Sweeney, Isabela Merced, and Celeste O’Connor. The film is now available to rent or buy on PVOD. Now, I haven’t seen the film but some of my colleagues have. And their verdict on it is in line with the critical mauling the film received on its theatrical opening. The film has been a flop for Sony Pictures. But if you haven’t seen it and want to do so, you can get it from your preferred streaming service now.

Will Madame Web manage to spin her way into the top ten next week? And if she does, where will she enter? We will have to wait to find out, so until next week…
Whatever you decide, whatever you buy, stay safe, be kind, look after each other and happy viewing!!
