THE OFFICIAL UK TOP TEN HOME ENTERTAINMENT TITLES

This week, the chart throws up some surprises throughout. We have two new entries and one re-entry that we’ve been expecting. As such, we must say goodbye to The Fall Guy, It Ends With Us, and Joker: Folie à Deux. And in a stunning surprise, we have a brand new number-one title. But it isn’t one that we would have expected. What has done the seemingly impossible and defeated the Marvel Duo after seven weeks at the top? We must enter the arena to find out.

ARE WE NOT ENTERTAINED AT NUMBER ONE?

With Gladiator II currently riding high at the cinema, our brand new number one is the Oscar-winning epic, the original Gladiator. Russell Crowe delivers a Best Actor-winning performance in the Ridley Scott movie from the year 2000. Crowe has never been better in his role as Maximus, making the film an epic that we still love and adore 24 years after it opened in cinemas.

THE XENOMORPH CONTINUES TO CLING ON!

You can’t keep a Xenomorph down for long as the ‘sidequel’ Alien: Romulus continues to hold firm at Number 2. (Read our review here.)

THE WILD ROBOT DEBUTS AT NUMBER THREE!

Our first new entry this week comes in the form of the animated movie, The Wild Robot. It tells the story of Roz, a service robot shipwrecked on an uninhabited island who must adapt to her surroundings, build relationships with the local wildlife, and become the adoptive mother of an orphaned goose, Brightbill. DO YOU WANT A TERRIFYING ALTERNATIVE CHRISTMAS MOVIE?

That’s all, folks! Not quite. Hitting PVOD this week is the horror threequel Terrifier 3. Following the shocking events of Terrifier 2, survivor Sienna is plagued by disturbing visions and begins to realise there’s no escaping her past, or out-running Art the Clown. Sadistic, sinister Art the Clown is back, and he’s more twisted than ever, determined to shatter the peace Sienna and her family have fought so hard to regain – dragging them back into a depraved and insidious living nightmare With a thirst for chaos and a mind twisted by pure evil, Art unleashes his biggest and bloodiest wave of horror yet, forcing Sienna to face her fears once more, in an epic fight for survival.

You will need a VERY strong stomach with the film. Some of what it contains is way over the top, with blood, guts, gore and scenes that will revolt certain viewers. It is also one of the horror highlights of the year. (Read our review here.) It isn’t festive family viewing, that’s for sure. But once the kids and granny are tucked up in bed, sit back with a strong drink and enjoy all the film has to offer. It is available to rent for £15.99 or to buy early for £19.99.

Will the film make a dent in the top ten placings next week? Time will inevitably tell if the viewing public has the stomach for Art The Clown and his violent shenanigans. Until next time…

Whatever you decide, whatever you buy, stay safe, be kind, look after each other, and happy viewing!
