Coming to Netflix on March 25th is the incredible documentary, Con Mum. It is an unbelievable tale that shocks us when we discover that it is all true. Con Mum is the extraordinary story about a chef whose life is upended when a jet-setting, champagne-sipping, hotel-hopping woman claims to be his long-lost mother. Netflix has released the official trailer for the documentary, which you can see below.
Just by watching the trailer, we can get an idea of the lengths this woman went to in her deception. We also gain an understanding of the emotional damage inflicted upon Graham Hornigold by this web of lies.
THE STORY
In July 2020, TV pastry chef and co-founder of Longboys Doughnuts, Graham Hornigold, received a message that he had been waiting for all his life. The email was from a woman called Dionne who said that she was searching for her son who had been taken away from her aged two. Less than a week later Graham is sitting in the penthouse of a Liverpool hotel drinking champagne and building a relationship with the mum he thought he’d never get to meet. A successful businesswoman, Dionne introduces Graham to an opulent lifestyle. But after a whirlwind few months, Graham begins to wonder if all that glitters isn’t gold. And whether Dionne is truly his long-lost mum.
