Signature Entertainment proudly presents the UK trailer and artwork for Donnie Yen’s legal thriller The Prosecutor. It will be available on Digital Platforms on June 16 and Blu-ray on June 23. The film is loosely based on a real-life 2016 drug-trafficking case. The story follows a police detective-turned-public prosecutor who seeks to overturn the conviction of a misjudged defendant entangled with a crime syndicate led by a law-educated drug lord. The cast includes Julian Cheung, Michael Hui, Francis Ng, and MC Cheung Tin-fu.
THE PREMISE
Donnie Yen pulls double duty. Landing cases by day and punches by night as the last good man in a city of corruption. Inspired by a true legal case in Hong Kong, *The Prosecutor* follows a man who is falsely accused of drug trafficking and pleads guilty after being framed. Even with the confession, a determined veteran policeman turned prosecutor believes the man is innocent and actively investigates the case to uncover the truth. Risking both his career and his life to bring the real perpetrator to justice.
Starring Donnie Yen (Ip Man). Francis Ng (Infernal Affairs II) and Kent Cheng (Why Me?). The Prosecutor is written by Edmond Wong (Ip Man 3) and directed by Yen.
