Dinosaurs Rule the World in the latest teaser for Gareth Edwards’ Jurassic World: Rebirth, unleashes the Spinosaurus!
We are three weeks away from the release of Jurassic World: Rebirth, and the dinosaurs are ready to rule the world. With Gareth Edwards and his incredible cast trekking the globe on their promotional tour, the film’s buzz is off the charts. To date, we’ve seen teasers for the T-Rex raft sequence. We’ve also witnessed the attack of the Mosasaurus. And we’ve even tangled with the Mutadons. But in the latest teaser, the studio is unleashing the Spinosaurus.
Fans were overjoyed when the first teaser trailer revealed the Spinosaurs’ involvement in the film. Rebirth marks the Spinosaurs’ first involvement in a live-action Jurassic film since their debut in Jurassic Park III. But before we delve into the Spinosaur’s legacy, check out the teaser below.
A FALSE APEX PREDATOR
The creature made a significant impact when it debuted in Jurassic Park III. At the time of its release, research on the Spinosaurus was still in its early stages, with only a few fossils having been discovered. As a result, the creature was placed in a dominant role somewhat naively in the story. In an epic showdown, the Spinosaurus faced off against and ultimately defeated the Tyrannosaurus Rex, even preying upon it afterward. Although this victory over the T-Rex was an unrealistic plot point that exaggerated the Spinosaurus’s abilities, fans still rallied around the creature, and it has remained a favorite ever since.
Unfortunately for the producers of the series, later research on the Spinosaur revealed that it was mainly a fish-eater. In fact, it had evolved a large fin on its back to help it hunt prehistoric fish while underwater. In summary, it was far from the formidable predator it had initially been portrayed as. Hence, if it had encountered the T. Rex, the outcome would likely have been very different.

AN ACCURATE RETURN
Fortunately, with the release of Jurassic World: Rebirth, the Spinosaurus has been reimagined and is back, bigger and meaner than ever. The creature has been carefully redesigned to resemble its real-life counterpart more closely. We are about to witness the most screen-accurate version of the Spinosaurus to date. Additionally, we won’t just see one of these massive monsters in the film. The trailers have confirmed the presence of at least four different Spinosaurs. So, prepare for an onslaught of Spinosaurus mayhem. Based on the latest teaser, they will be eating well. But the question remains: will any of the cast survive?
