Toss a coin to your new Witcher. Liam Hemsworth slips into Henry Cavill’s shoes as Geralt of Rivia in the first teaser for The Witcher Season 4.
Netflix has released the first teaser trailer for THE WITCHER Season 4. We’ve known for some time that Liam Hemsworth would replace Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia, but fans have wondered what the transition would look like since the news came out. Now, Netflix has put us out of our misery by sharing the first teaser for the new season. This news alone would be enough for us to toss a coin to our Witcher, but Netflix went one better by releasing the first poster for the new season. Although our beloved Witcher looks a little different these days, the new look hasn’t blunted his razor-sharp and lethal skillset. In the teaser, Geralt is seen fighting a ghostly Wraith that emerges from the catacombs of the Continent. Toss a coin and check it out below.
SYNOPSIS
After the shocking, Continent-altering events that close out season three, the new season follows Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri who are faced with traversing the war-ravaged Continent and its many demons apart from each other. If they can embrace and lead the groups of misfits they find themselves in, they have a chance of surviving the baptism of fire and finding one another again.
NEW POSTER
Netflix has also released a brand new poster for the series featuring its iconic trio: Geralt, Ciri, and Yennefer. The poster showcases them navigating the war-torn Continent as they struggle to reunite. But perhaps the most significant addition to the poster is confirmation of the official release date. We can now lock in the date of October 30 for the new season, which should make our Halloween season go off with a bang. Check it out below.

RELEASE
The new season is being billed as a two-season journey that will culminate in the already confirmed fifth and final season. Beyond that, the future is uncertain for Geralt of Rivia. Netflix has tried, unsuccessfully, to expand the sandbox with prequels, anime adventures, and more, but to date, none have captured the same magic of the central story and its characters. That being said, the series continues to shift decent numbers on Netflix, despite the third season being panned by critics and viewers alike.
The question on everyone’s mind is: Will fans accept Liam Hemsworth as Geralt? Henry Cavill is still cherished for his portrayal of the character, but he has moved on to the Highlander reboot, which has been delayed until 2026 due to a training injury. As for Hemsworth, he benefits from being part of an already established cast and a series known for its high production value. Let’s hope he quickly adapts to the role and brings new depth to the character we know and love.
All will be revealed when The Witcher Season 4 kicks off on October 30.
