MUBI Announces The Streaming Date For Father Mother Sister Brother

Winner of the Golden Lion at the 2025 Venice International Film Festival. The film was written and directed by Jim Jarmusch. Father Mother Sister Brother is coming to MUBI.

MUBI, the global distributor, streaming service, and production company, is happy to announce the upcoming streaming date for Jim Jarmusch’s (Paterson, Only Lovers Left Alive, Broken Flowers) new film Father Mother Sister Brother. It will be available on MUBI from 29 May 2026.

The film received its World Premiere at the 2025 Venice International Film Festival. At the festival, it won the top prize, the Golden Lion.

THE CAST

Starring Tom Waits, Adam Driver, and Mayim Bialik, Charlotte Rampling, Cate Blanchett, and Vicky Krieps, Indya Moore and Luka Sabbat, Father Mother Sister Brother is an intimate exploration of the universal intricacies of family dynamics – funny, tender, and astutely observed.

The film has received some great critical acclaim, with notices like:

“Utterly compelling. It’s a small treasure of a film” – The Observer

“It is a film to savour” ★★★★- The Guardian

★★★★ “a small-scale and singular treat” – Empire

★★★★ “Just as wry and wilfully low-key as his 1980s cult classics” – Financial Times

THE PREMISE

Told in the form of a triptych divided into chapters set in New Jersey, Dublin, and Paris, each story concerns the relationships between adult children, their somewhat distant parent (or parents), and each other. Blending remarkable performances from its ensemble cast with Jarmusch’s wry and idiosyncratic observations of everyday life, the iconic indie director’s latest serves as a timely reminder that you can choose your friends and your lovers, but you can’t choose your family.
