The Box Office Top 10 | The UK Top 10 (10-12 July)

Explore the UK box office and discover the top films of the weekend at the cinema. What’s holding the top spot this week?

Welcome to The Official UK Box Office Top 10. Here you’ll find the latest Box Office Top 10 and the biggest hits in cinemas right now.

This weekend at the UK box office, Moana gets shipwrecked with a much lower than expected opening, and Minions & Monsters has a significant drop in its second weekend. Read on to find out the details of Moana’s opening and what it means for Disney, and how the other films fared this weekend at the box office.

(1) Moana (live-action)

The live-action adaptation of Moana was released in cinemas, and instead of being awash with a huge box office gross, the film ran aground, mustering only £2,875,066 in its opening weekend. This is markedly lower than the previous Disney live-action adaptationLilo and Stitch (2025), which opened to £9,568,923, and even lower than the much-maligned live-action adaptation of Snow White, which opened to £3,856,173.

It’s much more in line with the inflation-unadjusted total of the original Moana, which only opened to £2,214,898. However, this is before the film became a sensation. Its sequel opened to £12,021,342 back in 2024, a number that Disney likely had in mind for how the live-action feature would open.

Disney’s future live-action projects are a much greater risk than the company previously thought, and it will likely course-correct to avoid another failure.

(2) Toy Story 5

Toy Story 5 brought in £2,480,703 in its fourth weekend of release, dropping 57% from the previous weekend. Its overall total is £42,426,040, and the film is likely to challenge Michael for the top-grossing film at the UK box office if it can keep up its momentum. It has proven victorious over other family films at the box office.

(3) Minions & Monsters

Minions & Monsters could only muster £1,727,005 in its second weekend for a harsh 61% drop from its opening, showing that this latest installment doesn’t have the staying power that Universal would have hoped for. Going up against Toy Story 5 proved too much for the little yellow creatures.

(4) Evil Dead Burn

The latest Evil Dead Burn film hit cinemas this weekend, bringing in £912,234 in its opening weekend. Comparing this to the opening of the last film in the franchise, Evil Dead Rise, which released in April 2023 and brought in £1,477,840 in its opening weekend, there is a slight drop-off between sequels, but nothing so drastic as to be overly concerning.

(5) The Invite

The Invite held well in its second weekend of release, bringing in £429,969 and declining by only 46%. Its total overall is £1,821,188.

(6) Obsession

Obsession continues to prove that it’s the smash hit of the summer, with the film bringing in £268,189 in its ninth weekend of release. It’s approaching ten weekends in the top ten, an impressive feat, and is approaching a total box office take of £20 million, with a current overall total of £18,185,965.

(7) Supergirl

Supergirl continues to have a dismal box office performance, with the film falling to number seven in its third weekend of release. It took in £265,905 total, a 66% drop from its weekend number two haul, with a total box office of £5,248,067.

(8) Disclosure Day

In its fifth weekend of release, Disclosure Day made the number eight spot at the UK box office, pulling in £206,724. Its total is £12,372,299, so it will likely exceed £15 million.

(9) Jackass: Best and Last

Jackass: Best and Last will likely spend a final weekend inside the top ten, bringing in a total of £123,674, a 71% decline from the previous weekend. This film didn’t have the staying power to justify its low opening and will only be in the top ten for three weekends.

Jasper, “Dark Shark,” Rachel Wolfson, Sean “Poopies” McInerney, Zach Holmes, Johnny Knoxville, Preston Lacy, Danger Ehren, Steve-O, Chris Pontius, Wee Man, Dave England in jackass: best and last from Paramount Pictures.

(10) Dhamaal 4

Rounding out the top ten is the opening of Dhamaal 4 with £116,478. This Indian film is the latest entry into the comedy series and follows a chaotic gang of misfits who embark on a frantic quest to chase the mythical Treasure of Life.

Next weekend, the latest Christopher Nolan movie, The Odyssey, opens in cinemas.
