September on Sky and NOW features the return of Saturday Night Live UK and The Paper. Meanwhile, The Wargame and 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple premiere.
We may be bidding farewell to the ludicrously hot weather for another year. However, the temperature on Sky isn’t dipping any time soon. After shattering all expectations with its debut earlier this year, the gang is back for more comedy chaos. Saturday Night Live UK returns for its second season.
Elsewhere, some of politics’ most recognizable faces take on a simulated attack on UK soil in The Wargame. In addition, Ohio’s most intrepid reporters take on the biggest stories they can find in the second season of The Paper.
Meanwhile, on Sky Cinema, the post-apocalyptic saga continues in 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple, and we’ve got two Sky Original films making their UK premieres. There’s something in the water… and it’s Hungry. And Liam Neeson and Zachary Levi are on a mission of redemption in the action-packed thriller The Fix.

Saturday Night Live UK
Live from London, it’s Saturday Night! The British incarnation of NBC’s legendary late-night showcase returns for its second series, with a new guest host taking the helm each week, putting their own distinctive stamp on the SNL formula alongside a chart-topping musical guest.
Written, rehearsed, and performed in the week of each show, every episode is staged in front of a live studio audience. It delivers an opening monologue, topical sketches, live music, and a UK twist on SNL’s iconic news satire, Weekend Update. Furthermore, it brings the gloriously unpredictable energy that made Series 1 Sky’s most talked about show of the year.

The Wargame
The Wargame is a landmark four-part series where constructed documentary meets propulsive drama. It is based on the award-winning Sky News podcast of the same name. Set six months in the future, the series takes viewers beyond the news cycle and behind closed doors into a sealed COBR- style crisis room. Here, real-world senior politicians, military leaders, and intelligence chiefs are challenged to confront a high-stakes scenario. In this scenario, there is a Russian attack on UK soil.
This gripping simulation has been developed in conjunction with leading academics, military and defense experts, including Sky News’ Security and Defense Editor Deborah Haynes, to replicate the pressure of political decision-making at the highest level. Moreover, an impressive cross-party cast of highly experienced public figures must navigate this crisis. They include Michael Gove, Nicola Sturgeon, Penny Mordaunt, Sayeeda Warsi, Harriet Harman, Jim Murphy, Ayesha Hazarika, General Sir Richard Barrons, Kim Darroch, Christopher Steele, Lord George Robertson, and Anthony Scaramucci. Opposing them, a team of Russia experts is led by Keir Giles.

The Paper – Season 2
The intrepid team at the Toledo Truth Teller returns for a second season of the mockumentary sitcom based in the same world as the US adaptation of The Office. In season two, after sweeping the Ohio Journalism Awards, Ned searches for a journalistic crusade. He comes for a local private club, jeopardizing the paper. Additionally, he and Mare try to figure out their attraction. Esmeralda struggles to find her place, and the staff gradually mature as reporters.

The Walking Dead: Dead City – Season 3
Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Lauren Cohan return as the fan-favorite characters Negan and Maggie in the third season of The Walking Dead: Dead City.
Maggie and Negan finally put aside their differences to build the first thriving community in Manhattan since the apocalypse. However, when chaos in the city begins to arise, they are forced to question: have they learned from their old wounds, or will their dark past spell doom for the entire city?

Lorne
From Academy Award-winning filmmaker Morgan Neville, who brought us 20 Feet from Stardom and Won’t You Be My Neighbor?, comes Lorne. This is an unprecedented, behind-the-scenes glimpse at the man who built the inimitable empire of comedy. He shaped television and culture for generations. The documentary features exclusive footage, archival treasures, and candid interviews with the show’s most iconic cast members and writers. These include Tina Fey, Maya Rudolph, John Mulaney, Andy Samberg, Conan O’Brien, Chris Rock, and many more.

COMING TO SKY CINEMA
Hungry
After getting lost in the dense Louisiana swamplands, a group of stranded holidaymakers must fight for survival. They must face a highly aggressive, rampaging hippo on the loose.

The Fix
After their mission in Afghanistan goes tragically wrong, a group of war-torn CIA operators mentored by “Larry” (Liam Neeson) and led by “Tucker” (Zachary Levi), enter the heart of Tehran. They hope to earn redemption by pulling off a daring rescue.

28 Years Later: The Bone Temple
Expanding upon the world created by Danny Boyle and Alex Garland in 28 Years Later – but turning that world on its head – Nia DaCosta directs 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple. In a continuation of the epic story, Dr. Kelson (Ralph Fiennes) makes a discovery that could change the world as they know it. At the same time, Spike’s (Alfie Williams) encounter with Jimmy Crystal (Jack O’Connell) becomes a nightmare he can’t escape. In the world of The Bone Temple, the infected are no longer the only threat to survival. Now, the inhumanity of the survivors can be stranger and more terrifying.

Nirvanna: The Band The Show The Movie
Based on the 2007-09 web series Nirvanna The Band The Show, Matt Johnson and Jay McCarrol star as fictionalized versions of themselves as they revive their musical duo Nirvanna the Band. They had previously attempted to book themselves at the Rivoli music venue in Toronto. Despite not having written or recorded a single song, they tried.
Seventeen years later, having still not successfully secured a gig, the pair are accidentally sent back in time to 2008. Now, they must find a way to get back to the present. However, they may as well tinker about a bit with the continuum while they’re there.

Hamlet (2026)
Shakespeare’s most enduring tragedy is reimagined in a bold, modern adaptation set within London’s elite South Asian community. When Hamlet (Riz Ahmed) returns for his father’s funeral, he is stunned to discover his uncle Claudius is marrying his newly widowed mother. Visited by his father’s ghost, Hamlet learns his brutal murder was at the hands of Claudius. This revelation leads him to spiral into a quest for vengeance that exposes the rot at the heart of the family’s empire. It also threatens his own sanity.

The Moment
As her arena tour debut looms, a pop star (Charli XCX) finds herself caught inside the afterglow of a breakout summer. However, she is under the mounting pressure of what it costs to stay on top. Pop mockumentary also starring Alexander Skarsgård and Patricia Arquette.

The History of Sound
The History of Sound follows two young men – Lionel (Paul Mescal) and David (Josh O’Connor) – in the shadows of WWI, who are determined to record the lives, voices, and music of their American countrymen. As they begin to log the events, the two fall in love.
