Screen icon Antonio Banderas has closed a deal to join Harrison Ford for his final Indiana Jones adventure!
Although filming on Indiana Jones 5 is already well underway, you’d be forgiven for thinking it is too late to add a new addition to the cast. But you’d be dead wrong. We are hearing that screen legend Antonio Banderas has inked a deal to join Harrison Ford for his final adventure. The Oscar-nominated actor now joins an all-star cast featuring Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Mads Mikkelsen, Boyd Holbrook, and Shaunette Renée Wilson. For Banderas, it marks another franchise he can add to his resume.
Although filming has recently moved from England to Scotland, Harrison Ford is currently sidelined, recovering from a should injury sustained in rehearsal. But that hasn’t stopped director James Mangold, who is using Ford’s recovery time to shoot additional scenes and background footage.
Although Steven Spielberg is handing over the directorial reins to James Mangold (Logan); the legendary director will be on hand to oversee proceedings in his new role as producer. John Williams, who has composed the score of EVERY entry in the franchise will return to add his symphonic brilliance to proceedings; and ensure Harrison Ford’s legendary archeologist goes out on a high note!
Until Lucasfilm makes an official announcement, Banderas’ role remains a mystery. As does the majority of the plot. But as soon as we hear more, you’ll be the first to know.
Indiana Jones continues the search for fortune and glory on July 29, 2022.
