“Tsurune delivers another solid episode. This season doesn’t waste any time and dives right into the Regional tournament while also exploring more the characters from Kirisaki.”
It is Wednesday so that means it is time for a new episode of Tsurune season 2!
KIRASAKI HIGH SCHOOL
The first part of this episode focuses on Kirasaki High School. Thus, we get to spend more time with Shu and the others. I do hope this season continues to dive deeper into these characters. They are actually just as interesting as the Kazemai team.
Change is coming for the current line-up of Kirasaki Kyudo’s team. Indeed, Manji leaves as he still struggles with target panic. Though, don’t worry he still has a pretty good amount of screentime in this episode. And I think it is going to be quite the challenge for him to overcome his troubles. Kabashima replaces him on the team. He has the most awkward scene with the twins. In fact, I couldn’t stop laughing.
Moreover, we learn more about Shu’s life. We are even introduced to his sister. Just like Rin from Free!, he started out as the mean rival but the more we learn about him, the more we understand him. There is a real character development with him.
REGIONALS
The second part of the episode focuses on our favorite main characters of Kazemai High School. Even though, Kazemai is already selected for Nationals, they still participate in the Regional tournament. It is part of their training. In fact, season 2 does not waste anytime. Right with the second episode, we have a tournament. One can assume that the Nationals might even come before the season finale.
This episode features a lot of bonding between the characters. The little scenes of slice of life are so precious. The best sports anime are the ones that focus on the relationships between the characters. It is not just about the sport itself. And for us, Minato and Seiya fans, there is a lot to enjoy.
Furthermore, Kaito’s past is about to catch up on him. And I think it is going to be an intriguing storyline this season. Plus, let’s not forget the ominous new rival Eisuke. A little bit more is revealed about him. But the best is yet to come.
As for the end credits, once again the end theme plays during a scene. So we don’t know if there will actually be proper end credits this season.
