Explore the UK box office and discover the top films of the weekend at the cinema. What’s holding the top spot this week?
Welcome to The Official UK Box Office Top 10. Here you’ll find the latest Box Office Top 10 and the biggest hits in cinemas right now.
This weekend at the UK box office, the Minions enter the fray with the third installment in their sub-franchise, looking to challenge Toy Story 5. Did it succeed? Read on to find out below, and what other films were in the UK top ten for the first weekend in July.
(1) Toy Story 5
Continuing its box office dominance in the face of new animated family-orientated competition, Toy Story 5 maintains the top spot for the third weekend in a row with £5,725,337. Its total gross of £37,954,828 is fast approaching £40 million and could even challenge Michael’s overall total once its box office run is said and done.
(2) Minions & Monsters
Entering the box office top ten at number two, Minions & Monsters brought in £4,376,676. This is less than half of what Minions: The Rise of Gru opened to back in July 2022; its opening haul was £10,424,758. While some of this loss likely can be attributed to a resurgent PIXAR – their 2022 June film, the Toy Story spin-off Lightyear, was already crashing out at the box office – it is possible that audiences have grown tired of the Minions and their antics.

(3) The Invite
Opening to £799,383, The Invite takes the number three spot at the UK box office. The film follows a long-married couple, Joe (Seth Rogen) and Angela (Olivia Wilde), whose marriage has become stale and distant. When Angela invites their uninhibited upstairs neighbors, Hawk (Edward Norton) and Piña (Penélope Cruz), over for a dinner party, the evening spirals from mundane small talk into hilariously uncomfortable revelations about intimacy, resentment, and desire.
(4) Supergirl
It’s only the second weekend for Supergirl, and yet it’s already falling at the box office. It could only muster £786,477, representing a harsh 71% drop from its opening weekend. A poor critical reception has translated into poorer word of mouth, bringing down the Kryptonian.

(5) Obsession
Now in its eighth weekend of release, Obsession brings in another £494,495. It’s keeping its grip tight on the summer box office, not letting audiences go. Its overall total of £17,559,289 is inching ever closer to the £20 million mark, which is astonishing.
(6) Disclosure Day
In its fourth weekend of release, Disclosure Day manages to bring in £488,044. Its overall total is £11,862,945, which, while not a huge pop off, isn’t a failure.

(7) Jackass: Best and Last
Jackass: Best and Last arrives at number seven on this list, with its total of £419,916. It’s only a 46% drop from its opening, which isn’t too shabby.
(8) Backrooms
Still clinging on at the box office, Backrooms managed to grow 2% in its sixth weekend of release to £200,679. Audiences love to get lost in the Backrooms, even this late in its theatrical run.
(9) Alpha
An Indian film directed by Shiv Rawail, Alpha opens to £160,448. The film is the seventh in the YRF Spy universe and follows two female agents who must navigate espionage and high-stakes action while trying to complete a mission for national security.

(10) Scary Movie
Hanging on for a final weekend, Scary Movie comes in at number 10 with £120,250 in its fifth weekend. The sixth film in the Scary Movie franchise sees the return of the Wayans brothers, and pokes fun at modern horror films.
Next weekend sees the live-action adaptation of Moana, and Evil Dead Burn arrive in cinemas.
