The galaxy far, far away uses the Force to claim its overwhelming reward…
Despite the fans of the Star Wars saga being divided over Rian Johnson’s Episode VIII, the worldwide box office continues to defy the detractors. In just twenty-four days, The Last Jedi has amassed a worldwide box office total of $1.2 Billion Dollars and continues to reign supreme over its competition.
Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle has now replaced Johnson’s vision of the galaxy far, far away at the top of the US box office but it remains to be seen if it can stand between The Last Jedi and box office domination.
Whether or not The Last Jedi can sustain its incredible run and surpass the worldwide box office total of J.J Abrams’ 2015 spectacular, The Force Awakens remains to be seen, (Rogue One finished with just over $1 Billion) but one thing is for sure…Rian Johnson and his team have crafted a truly mesmerising eighth instalment of the Skywalker saga. His devoted supporters will now look forward to the release of his planned new trilogy, expected to be set in an untouched corner of the Star Wars universe. His detractors, however, will continue to scrutinise his every move until they are appeased.
Until then, we must trust in the Force!
And may it always be with you…
