Hot on the heels of the debut trailer for Disney XD’s all-new animated series Star Wars: Resistance, fans have been trawling through the internet on a quest to unearth every titbit of information that may relate to the events of the show. The trailer revealed the high-flying antics of ace pilot Kazuda Xiono, who is enrolled within the ranks of the Resistance alongside squadron leader Poe Dameron and his lovable droid BB-8.

If the plot of the series isn’t enough to whet our appetites, Star Wars fan Jose Ruiz on Twitter was diligent enough to rummage through StarWars.com‘s official page for the show and unearthed some fascinating news about exactly when in Star Wars lore Star Wars: Resistance is set.

In Star Wars lore, six months is a very small window to confine the events of a brand-new series to, but the prospect of seeing Han Solo and Chewbacca searching the galaxy for the Millennium Falcon, Captain Phasma and her army of infamous First Order Stormtrooper’s hunting down the Resistance, and Poe Dameron demonstrating his unconquerable piloting skills, there is more than enough to tantalise us.

And lest we forget, Dave Filoni’s awe-inspiring Star Wars: The Clone Wars series, which is finally returning for its seventh season achieved its majesty in as little as a three-year period. And look how that turned out!

Star Wars: Resistance will debut on Disney XD in the United States on Sunday, October 7 (10 p.m. EDT/PDT) on Disney Channel, DisneyNOW, and Disney Channel VOD, with subsequent airings on Disney XD. UK release date to be confirmed.
