These glorious Autobots and Decepticons are coming to a toy shelf near you with all-new vintage accessories
Megatron must be stopped. No matter the cost.
Leave it Hasbro to knock this out of the park. Today, during the Transformers Fan First live stream, the great team at Hasbro unveiled three awesome new action incarnations of Optimus Prime, Megatron, and Soundwave. These new figures come from what Hasbro is calling the Transformers R.E.D. collection (Robot Enhanced Detail). All three come in their original first-generation look from the classic animated series and are “kibble-free” versions, meaning they’re non-transformable.
All three arrive with a range of awesome accessories including an Ion Blaster and Energon Axe for Optimus Prime, and a Fusion Cannon and Energon cube for Megatron. Soundwave features a miniaturized version of Ravage.

Here’s the official line:
From Hasbro: “All figures in the collection are 6-inches in scale and inspired by iconic characters from the TRANSFORMERS universe, including G1, TRANSFORMERS: PRIME, BEAST WARS: TRANSFORMERS, and beyond. R.E.D. figures do not convert, but are highly poseable and were designed to bring collectors the most screen-accurate versions of their favorite characters to display on their shelves.”
Optimus Prime, leader of the Autobots, and top Decepticon Megatron include up to seven accessories including alternate hands. Like Hasbro’s other 6-inch collector lines, they are expected to be priced at $19.99. In the US, these figures will be exclusive to Walmart and Hasbro Pulse. Fans outside of the US should check their local vendors.
This has been a fantastic week for Transformers fans. Earlier in the week Netflix finally confirmed the launch date for the new animated series Transformers: War For Cybertron: Siege, and now we are being treated to a whole new series of incredibly detailed figures.
I don’t know about you, but I am all over these new figures. As a kid of the eighties, I grew up with Transformers Gen 1 and hold Transformers: The Movie in the highest esteem. Having the chance to add these three classic characters to my collection is too good an opportunity to pass up – and I will be first in line to pre-order mine.
Pre-orders go live on HasbroPulse today, so get in quick!
