The Scarlet Speedster will sport a suitably cool new costume in Andy Muschietti’s game-changing The Flash movie
Andy Muschietti has never been shy about treating fans to a sneak peek or two at The Flash movie. Whether it’s a close-up look at Michael Keaton’s new Batman suit or revealing the new Supergirl; the director has been eager to appease the fans. And today, he has continued the trend by giving us our first look at the Scarlet Speedster’s new suit. Check it out below:
It was back at DC FanDome when it was revealed that Keaton’s Batman/Bruce Wayne would be the supplier of Barry Allen’s new threads, and the concept art teased a far more traditional suit than his debut costume from Justice League. But the concept art doesn’t do the new suit justice. It looks stunning and although the image doesn’t give too much away, it does give us a taste of the look Muschieti is going for.
A FRESH TAKE ON A CLASSIC
The suit appears to be a perfect amalgamation of the classic costume from the comics, and Grant Gustin’s contemporary “Arrowverse” costume. Which is a masterstroke, because rumors are swirling that hint at Gustin’s Flash making an appearance in Ezra Miller’s big-screen adventure. Considering Miller popped up in the “Crisis On Infinite Earths” crossover event on The CW, it seems reasonable for Miller to return the favor. And this would be the first time that the DC television universe crossed boundaries and arrived on the big screen.
CROSSOVER
Until we hear anything concrete from the director, Warner Bros., or Gustin himself, we should take these rumors with a pinch of salt. But with an all-star cast, a costume department at the peak of its game, and the potential for Gustin to make an appearance; The Flash has everything going for it. And with the movie expected to follow the classic “Flashpoint” storyline, Andy Muschietti could be about to deliver the mother of all DC Movies. And that is a tantalizing prospect.
The Flash will bring the speed force to theaters on November 4th, 2022.
