“The Hot Toys Wrecker from The Bad Batch will be a fine addition to your clone collection. Bulkier than the regular clones, he will stand out!”
Figures so often get delayed that when a figure is released early, it’s always a moment to celebrate! This time, Wrecker from The Bad Batch is reaching us a few more in advance! And with the release of the new trailer from the final season, the timing couldn’t be better.
THE BOX AND ACCESSORIES

As usual, you get the same type of box – a black box with a promotional picture of the figure and the Star Wars logo. For The Bad Batch figures, you get a red colored strip with two additional pictures of the figure.
Wrecker comes with what’s needed for him so I can’t complain. But it still would have been even better if they had included a pack of Mantell Mix or Lula, Omega’s Tooka doll. Since I mentioned Omega, I know it’s unlikely but I still hope Hot Toys makes her figure. Without her, the team will never be complete. The display base is your usual Star Wars interior base and like the other members of The Bad Batch, you can add a printed piece of plastic on top of it. For this one, it features Wrecker’s helmet.
Then, he has seven hands – two fist hands, two open hands, two hands to hold the vibroblade, and one hand to hold the blaster. In terms of weapons, he has this huge vibroblade, for any other character it would be too big. But for Wrecker, it’s like a dagger. He also has his DC-17m repeating blaster rifle. It’s the blaster rifle of clone commandos. This one is nicely detailed and uses silver and black paint. Finally, he has his backpack, as usual, it works with a magnet. It’s a big piece with some nice weathering on it.

THE FIGURE
Undoubtedly, Wrecker is an imposing figure. He is taller and bigger than the other clones and Hot Toys has done a fantastic job recreating him. They got the scale right! For that, they created a new body sculpt. Like Hunter, they have done a good job making the armor into a live-action look. The armor is a modified clone commando armor.
The feet and leg armor pieces are two separate pieces so you have feet articulation. The vibroblade easily gets in the sheath. The armor pieces on the legs can be adjusted, depending on what you need for your action poses. Hot Toys has done a great job with the weathering and paint scratches. There’s just the right level of weathering, not too much but not too little.
Unlike the regular clone’s shoulder pads, Wrecker’s shoulder pads can’t move. So this does limit the shoulder articulation. You can still get great poses despite this problem. The helmet is a brand new one and it’s something that didn’t need much work to make from animation to live-action. It’s a cool helmet that stands out.

THE HEADSCULPT
The headsculpt was the hardest part to make because it’s not a regular clone’s face. You can’t simply use the usual Temuera Morrison headsculpt. First, they had to make it bigger and then add the scars. You can still recognize Temuera Morrison in there but the scars with a live-action look are scarier than in animation. Hot Toys has done a fine job with the scar textures. It wasn’t an easy sculpt to make but the results are great.
