NUMBER ONE
Rebecca Romijn made a big impression when she appeared as Number One in Star Trek: Discovery. Aside from her appearance in The Original Series pilot episode “The Cage” we know very little about Commander Una Chin-Riley. However, her contribution throughout Disco’s second season revealed her to be a tough and resilient First Officer. And with her asserting her authority over the crew of the Enterprise, the famous vessel looks to be in very safe hands.
The character was originated by the late, great Majel Barret who went on to be recast as Nurse Christine Chapel; another character that is being refreshed for Strange New Worlds. And in this new latest promo, we already see her reassuring members of the crew, engaging in a firefight, and wrestling with a strange glow emanating from inside her body. Fun times ahead for the crew of the starship Enterprise!
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds stars Anson Mount as Captain Pike, Rebecca Romjin as Number One, and Ethan Peck as Spock. Joining them are Jess Bush as Nurse Christine Chapel, Christina Chong as La’an Noonien-Singh, Celia Rose Gooding as Cadet Nyota Uhura, Melissa Navia as Lt. Erica Ortegas, Babs Olusanmokun as Dr. M’Benga and Bruce Horak as Hemmer.
The series premieres on Paramount+ in the US on May 5, 2022.
