The visionary director has shared our first look at Sasha Calle‘s Supergirl costume from The Flash
After teasing us with our first look at Michael Keaton’s Batman suit and Ezra Miller’s Flash costume; Andy Muschietti has shared our first look at Sasha Calle‘s Supergirl outfit in The Flash.
The director has never been shy about sharing details about his DC gamechanger. And with filming well underway, it was only a matter of time before more images emerged from the set. But this reveal is something else. Dust off your cape and check it out:
This new suit looks spectacular. And it echoes Henry Cavill’s costume from Man of Steel and Batman vs Superman brilliantly. However, the usage of this costume does call Warner Bros’ new direction into question. The studio has decided to move away from Cavill’s incarnation of the Man of Steel; instead opting to reboot the character AGAIN. Only this time with a black actor assuming the role of Krypton’s favorite son.
FLASHPOINT
So with the character about to be reinvented, why is the studio persevering with a soon to be retired variation? Obviously, with the “Flashpoint” storyline being utilized in The Flash; the events of the movie could be the catalyst for wholesale change in the DCEU. And this could be the reasoning behind the Cavill-Esque suit. But until we hear more from the hallways of Warner Bros, the speculation will persist.
That being said, The Flash is shaping up to be a game-changer for the DC Universe. Andy Muschietti has crammed his movie full of so many wonderful elements that it cannot possibly fail to delight the fans. With Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck both returning as Batman; and Sasha Calle suiting up as Supergirl, the movie has everything going for it. And I for one, cannot wait to get my first look.
The Flash will release in cinemas on November 4th, 2022.
