Star Wars | Naomi Ackie Discusses Her The Rise of Skywalker Character

Megan shares her reaction to her first screening of Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker

Having come out of my first showing of The Rise of Skywalker, I have to say that I was a blank slate. As the credits rolled, I just sat in my seat attempting to process what I had seen. There was a lot thrown at you so it takes time to process and allow it all to sink in.

Star Wars The Rise Of Skywalker Review

Most of it was fun and entertaining and I LOVED the relationship between Rey, Finn and Poe. Every time they were together (especially in the beginning) it was like a perfect blend of them as their characters and them as themselves. What I mean is, I could totally see them shooting the same one-liners back and forth between takes as they did during the takes. To be honest, those scenes felt improved in the best way possible. I couldn’t get enough of those!

Can we talk about Leia? Oh, my FORCE! Her parts were AMAZING as per usual. If I didn’t know any better, I would have said that she was actually on set filming those scenes for this movie with the cast. It’s hard to believe all those shots came from The Force Awakens. They were BEAUTIFULLY adapted.

That said, however, there were some parts where I was like, ‘huh, that’s an interesting choice‘.

If asked to rate it, I would give it an 8.5 out of ten mainly due to the ending. Those who have seen it know what shipping I mean. To me, it seemed like it came out of nowhere. Sure, it fits the mood, but not the overall characters. While you can likely guess which ship I’m referring to, I’m in no way going to confirm it. You’ll just have to see for yourself.
