DC FanDome Schedule Revealed

Annlyel checks out the exciting panels heading our way at DC FanDome

We’re less than a week away from the DC FanDome 24-hour online virtual experience of a lifetime and that means there’s going to be a lot of news to digest very soon. I’m going to be truthful, I’m not a fan of these DC Comics movies but I have seen every single one of them.

Man Of Steel 016

I’ve seen Man of Steel a couple of times (mainly because I love Hans Zimmer’s musical score), I’ve watched the Extended Edition of Batman vs. Superman an embarrassing number of times, I went to see Wonder Woman for my nineteenth birthday and have seen the film a total of three times since then, I’ve seen Justice League only twice (I have no comment), I watched Suicide Squad once (I loved Harley Quinn and Deadshot), I thought Aquaman was fun and I thought Shazamwas super cute!! (And yes, I even saw Joker.)

Joker-001

It’s safe to say, whether I like these movies or the actors cast in them or not, I’m invested. With a lot of movies coming soon to the DC Extended Universe, it’s a lot to get excited about but there are three panels I’m particularly looking forward to. So, with no further delay, here they are.

Black Adam

I loved Shazam! I thought the movie was going to be a B-list version of Spider-Man: Homecoming but it turned out to be its own level of fun with a brand new character that I had no idea existed until about a year and a half ago. And its fun surprise toward the end of the film was just superbly done and had me beaming from ear to ear.

When I learned that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson was going to play the evil version of Shazam in a villain standalone movie called Black Adam I was super excited. The concept art depicting the actor in the role only helped increase my excitement and knowing there’s going to be a panel about the film is truly worth getting pumped about.

Wonder Woman 1984

I’m not a fan of the Wonder Woman film but it can be enjoyable at times. Wonder Woman is such an awesome superhero who rightfully deserves her own movies and knowing that we’re on the verge of seeing her sequel makes me even more excited.

We’ll get to see Diana Prince in action again taking on Cheetah and whoever else. Steve Trevor is back. (😒) And now she’s got a golden suit! We only got one trailer for the film, a trailer that kept Cheetah’s true appearance a secret. I’m ready to see this awesome villainess on the big screen and we’ve already been teased with a look at Minerva’s true identity being flaunted in this next trailer thanks to a sneak peek.

Plus, maybe we could get some more clips of Wonder Woman in her new suit or Pedro Pascal as Max Lord, an antagonist in the film who’s clearly up to no good.

Gosh, I’m excited!

The Snyder Cut of Justice League

While I’m not convinced that this new version of the Justice League will be better than The Avengers I do have a strong feeling that it will be better than what we were given. What were we given exactly?

I don’t know. An Avengers knockoff with an antagonist who looked so ridiculous there was no way he could be taken seriously. Its cast of characters feels like they’re crammed into the film because they have to be in the movie, not because it made sense. Its storytelling is nothing short of horrendous, leaving nothing for the viewer to care about or enjoy. And can we just mention that weird scene with the silent bug spray joke? Or that odd subplot with the family practically held hostage in what appeared to be an abandoned city? Or Superman’s horribly erased mustache resulting in a truly disturbing CGI-shaved face that made the Man of Steel‘s awkward forced grins feel even more discomforting?

Joss Whedon may have made a couple of lovable Avengers movies that grossed over a billion dollars but he clearly did not know what to do with Snyder’s vision of Justice League and it shows tremendously.  We’ll finally be getting a long-awaited trailer for the Synder Cut of Justice League and I am so ready to see what the director has up his sleeve. No, Batman vs. Superman isn’t the greatest superhero movie ever made, but its darker storytelling did make it feel somewhat original and fun.

I’m really eager to see what the Snyder Cut will give us.

Zack Snyder's Justice League

So there. Those are the three panels I’m most interested in during DC FanDome. Of course, I’ll be taking in all of the news and will undoubtedly be excited. I just hope, overall, the 24-hour online event lives up to the hype.🤞

Set to Kick off on August 22nd at 10am PT, DC Fandome will comprise of over 100 hours of unique content spread across six areas, including the Hall of Heroes and five different Verses.
